Tolkien, Asimov and Tanith Lee are my favorite authors. I read sci-fiction in general, and war stories in particular. And I'm reading waaaay too many manga. ;-)

Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, with a preference for Nightwish, Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil.
MOVIES
Almost everything directed by George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Hayao Miyazaki. Am I the only one in the world who hates Kubrick?
