Hi, I'm Tasha and originally from Wilmington, Delaware. I'm a Navy Wife and big anime fan. I've recently moved from Alexandria, VA to the Hampton Roads area so I don't know many here. I frequent Otakon, Anime USA, Nekocon, Katsucon, and Anime Mid Atlantic. I'm trying to get my husband into cosplay like I am. He's been to 13 cons and has yet to cosplay lol. He says he doesn't want his Navy buddies to recognize him. :P If they are surfing anime con sites or is at the con and spots you, what does that say about them? Before me, all he was familiar with is Kenshin. Now we have a huge collection between the both of us. Meeting other couples into anime, gaming and cosplay our age would be a plus. We're big kids. I have a sewing machine but cannot make my own costumes (yet). I'm always looking for someone to commission my next costume. Feel free to check out my profile and add me. Cosplay Elitists: Example: "Oh my costume is better. I made it from scratch. Oh how arrogant and stuck up I am. Let me bash your costume" It's nice that you made your costume but one doesn't have to look down on the ones that haven't. When I say haven't, I mean commissioned, helped or pieced together. Not Hot Topic Vash the Stamped jacket or Naruto costume.



Anime Elitists: "It's pronounced this way. Not that way." Oh gosh shut up. This inclueds the ones that have been to Japan and look down on all who haven't or deem them not real fans



Then I dislike the real otakus. I call myself an otaku in jest. I know the negative connotation it has in Japan. I know what it means yet there are some fat, balding, living in their mother's basement that take it to a whole new level. Thus making one not want to admit they are an anime fan.



Finally, what turns me off is the industry killers. I buy all my anime, manga, etc.

yaoi, bishies, Asian men, guys with eyeliner, smart guys/nerds, geeks, tech gadgets (Man that 1TB hard drive was hot!), etc.
