I prefer to photograph others doing it better, but you never know when I might show up as someone relatively obscure (especially when seen without accomplices) or out of the past. ^_^
Desty Nova (Gunnm/Battle Angel manga only, planned for ages)
Batou (Ghost in the Shell, not only semi-planned but requested lately)
Fifth Doctor (Doctor Who, previously complete but since lost over time--heh--current again after the recent Fifth-and-Tenth canon "Time Crash" meet)
Koichi Zenigata (Lupin the Third)
Tatsumi Saiga (Speed Grapher)

Round 1 (late-'80s to early-'90s):
Char Aznable (Mobile Suit Gundam, retired, early-'90s SFcons)
Riff Raff (Rocky Horror Picture Show, retired, late-'80s RHPS showings and SFcons)
Fourth Doctor and Fifth Doctor (Doctor Who, retired, but I have a cunning plan)
Round 2 ('00s):
Hal "Otacon" Emmerich (Metal Gear Solid II, Sakura-Con '04)
Yang Neumann (Macross Plus, Sakura-Con '04)
Hikaru Shindo (Hikaru no Go, private Halloween party '04)
Silent Bob ("ViewAskew" movies, convention Halloween party '05)
Jason (Irresponsible Captain Tylor, mask complete, at Sakura-Con '06 used a tuxedo for formal wear instead of "dress blues" or his usual outfit).
Milo Bloom (Bloom County, Emerald City Comic Con '08)
...stay tuned!
"Improv-cosplays" (modified "closet" types) not even legitimate attempts, but may be claimed with the right groups:
Eriksu (Trigun no-coat long-haired Vash on hiatus, stage-scar on a hand, and my name *is* Eric)
Kintaro (Golden Boy, mountain bike, anyone need a tutor?)
Kensuke Aida (Neon Genesis Evangelion, photo/video otaku, naturally!)

The short-short version: "Yes" ^_^

I started collecting with imports and fansubs on VHS and rented Laserdisk, some of which have still not been licensed here in the US more than two decades later.
To be more accurate; I started with televised dubs of Speed Racer, Star Blazers (edited Yamato), and Robotech (particularly the edited Macross portion). So most of my favorites come from the same era of hand-painted cels.
Among my top favorites are:
Matsumoto Leiji works like Yamato, Harlock and Galaxy Express 999;
Takahashi Rumiko works like Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, and Maison Ikkoku;
Sonoda Kenichi works like Bubblegum Crisis, Gall Force, Otaku no Video, and the shared world of Riding Bean and Gunsmith Cats;
classic mecha like Mobile Suit Gundam (originals), Gunbuster, (unedited) Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, and Mobile Police Patlabor;
Kimagure Orange Road;
Aah! Megamisama (OAVs) and You're Under Arrest;
and most works by Studio Ghibli and Gainax.
For the classic battle: Subtitled or not, but original audio, kudasai! ^_^
