I've promised myself to finish three big costumes this year. One, Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke, is probably on hold until after Sakura Con. I'm going all out on him, all his weapons (sword, bow and arrows, and jeweled knife), full outfit, leather boots, rain gear, riding chaps, everything. So the Gasukaners* had their first Christmas party. It was awesome. We went ice skating and hit the mall for Blue C Sushi and shopping, then went bowling and did a White Elephant gift exchange. I mostly did behind-the-scenes stuff, which was cool. I like playing hostess/mommy. Made a lot of cookies and candy; the peppermint bark went over really well.
