Manifest was fun but not as good as past years
Good to see so many people and make new friends
Sad couldn’t spilt my time better amoung people
Opening
Well as most things have already been said in other peoples journals I
will keep this fairly short. I also didn’t do much except photos and
cosplay (which is becoming a sad trend for my convention experiences),
so not much to say anyway.
Also see people are copying my convention report style so it must work pretty well
Once again I am going to do my usual report for cons. For all you new people,
is good,
is bad and
is a mixture of good and bad.
Thursday
Didn’t have an ungodly flight time but still had to get up at 5am and
leave at 5:30 meaning only got 4 hours sleep. Picked up cousin and left
for airport

melxi and her crew leaving for Manifest as they were on the same flight
Landed out in the sticks at Avalon, realised again why Jetstar suck
Got to accommodation to find things had been mixed up but for a backpackers it was pretty nice (except the beds and pillows)

juunana who were also staying with us
Unpacked and got ready for ball which *
juunana and I went to as Haurhi and Tamaki from Ouran Host Club
Got lost by someone claiming to know the way and got there ¾ hour late
Amaranth was okay but nothing fantastic. Food was average, costumes
were good, location was good, music was average, events were pretty
pitiful

Got a taxi back and slept as best we could
Friday
Did a couple of coffee runs and got some breakfast
Went and bought a 2GB SD card (very lucky as I sure needed it)
Got back to the hostel and changed into Archer for the Friday activities
Manifest again had problems with their rego so the line was HUGE
Cousin Jay stood in line for us so we could take photos

Did photo shoot with Debellia as Rin but sadly couldn’t do one with ~
melxi as Rider as she had costume malfunctions

Got some noodles from the IGA and sat in rooms before going to bed
Saturday
Went as Kurogane from Tsubasa Chronicle
We ended up getting there late as everyone had so much hair to do
Lost my badge but they gave me a replacement ^^
Went into the traders for the one and only time during the convention
Got some lovin from a Fai cosplayer
Took lots of photos of random cosplayers then went in for cosplay comp

Four/Five hours latter came out to do a photo shoot with Shiro and ~

Went back, got changed and went to dinner with *
juunana and two of her friends
Sunday
The big day had finally arrived! CODE GEASS GROUP
Went as normal school uniform LeLouch, all the other people are in the
box on the right as they have been for the last couple of months!
We all looked great and very proud (and glad) it came together. Thanks
to everyone, you were all awesome. Great work on the skit to ~

Had hundreds of photos taken while waiting for ~
Zed-sama to arrive only to find she had major costume disaster and couldn’t finish it
Did a quick photo shoot of ~
Sakenichi as C.C.
Practiced the skit and then went to the cosplay competition and got changed into Zero
Won best group (finally a Manifest prize) but sadly no medals for groups
so that dream is still unfulfilled
Got more photos by people then went and took our own in old arts
Went and got changed back into LeLouch and took more group shots
Got the Taxi back to accommodation and packed up as best we could
Went into china town and had dinner
Cleaned up at accommodation and *

X-VelvetRainDrops-X and myself headed to the after party
Got there just as it was shifting to another place and ~
X-VelvetRainDrops-X didn’t have ID so went back to backpackers
Got to bed at 4am
Monday
Checked out
Went to Minotaur, ~
Sakenichi bought me Claymore 1 & 2 as a present
Said goodbye to ~

Visited the Pixar exhibit at federation square
Took *
juunana to see a friend off then took her to the bus stop and said goodbye
Walked back into town and went to Hobby Japan
Went back to the backpackers and rang the taxi and got a ride to the airport
Plane delayed 30mins so we played card games
Stupid babies on planes crying the whole way
Had a very long and hard drive home finally getting into bed at 2:30am
Conclusion
I had convinced so many people to go as it was the best thing ever and
then Manifest goes and has there worst year in ages. It wasn’t really
there fault and it is fan run and it was still fun but some things just
took away from the event for so many people.
Apart from the 1½ hours in the morning I had no time to do anything as
it was spent at the cosplay comp. Manifest has changed a lot since the
first year I went when it was a small con now it is real big and they
are struggling to cope with the increase in numbers and not many new
people willing to help out.
I have spent the last week going through photos and uploading them. If
you looked at your gallery earlier you may want to check back as I may
have added more photos to them.
I enjoyed the event fairly well but I was like a headless chicken most
of the time and ended up offending/irritating/ignoring/disappointing a
lot of people. I also went a bit insane on Sunday and did some things I
probably shouldn’t have so now trying to mend things with people. If
you are one of these people I am very very sorry.
