DVDs

So how many DBZ DVDs (or even VHS tapes) does everyone have?

So far I'm collecting the new re-releases of DBZ...the FUNimation Season Box Sets (Season Three due out September 18!)

However, I saw the entire series (all 291 episodes, Japanese w/ English subs) at my local Asian mall for 120 dollars in a big box set. I think it was 34 discs or something.

Anyways, I'm getting off track, but not really. Would you view it better to have the older DVDs or the newer, remastered, widescreen DVDs?

I'm trying to get the fullscreen versions so i can possibly make an AMV in the future and all I have is the Ocean dub of Dragonball 1-13, Z Movies 1-3, Dragonball Z season 1, the Funimation dvds of the first two of the Ginyu saga, Trunks saga vol 1 dvd, Dragonball movies 2-4 and the specials, the GT boxsett season 2 and one of the Kid Buu dvds.

Oh man, I have about 30 old VHS TAPES! When the show started to be releases on DVD I got kinda upset because VHS was obsolete, so Glay and I never ended up getting many of the DVDs. Now that the widescreen remastered boxsets are coming out I am buying them!! I have the first 2 orange boxes lol.

I kinda wish that they never released so many different versions, because it makes collecting it confusing and stuff. I've seen those entire 291 episodes things at Asian malls, and they're all like.. bootlegs XD...

What does everyone think of the new rerealsed DVD seasson box sets of Dragonball Z?  I still gotta get my hands on them... but the promise of uncensored and original Japanese dialog really makes me eager to see what  been missing.

I had a few of the VHS tapes but they were random boring "nothing is going on" episodes from Android Saga (before Cell even shows up).  It was a dying time for finding the VHS unless you went to a used store like "Bookmans" (Neat store here in AZ) and found the episodes you needed (never happened).

Thus... I gave my VHS tapes  to them XD

I now only own the Bojack movie on DVD and I THINK I should still have The Tree of Might on VHS

I liked the original voice actors in Dragonball (When Ted Cole was Yamcha... yes I remember the VA!! :P)

And I refuse to buy the bootlegs anymore... they dont help the North America market at all... and if you ever wanted to get the artists or VAs to sign it... you would just indult them by giving them something thats ripping them off

Ted Cole=Best Yamcha evaa!  He also made a good Kuno in Ranma 1/2.

I don't buy bootlegs.  Plus, the English subtitles are sometimes spelled wrong and the picture quality is not that great.  Saw Chobits like that and it was awful.

I saw the full series at my local Asian mall. 130 bucks, but yeah...probably bootleg. So far I only have the first two seasons...waiting for more. I believe they'll be done with all 7 releases by the end of next year, which is great...cause I don't wanna wait .

According to this slip thing FUNimation now includes in there DVDs....

Season 3 of Dragonball Z should be out September 18th and it has Freiza on the cover.

I have noticed more now that FUNimation is really doing alot of different things with/ for anime that the other studios are not doing still.

Very cool stuff!

Yeah, I got Season 3 in October at a con. And watched half of it in the room xD

Season 4 is due out in February, I think, and will contain the Garlic Jr, Trunks, and Androids Sagas.
