What's the biggest convention in your country?

As Jarlino suggested, here's a little thread made to gather some informations about conventions in Europe ^^

Sooo, what's the biggest Con in your country? In France, I think we all agree that the biggest is Japan Expo, near Paris at the beginning of July. I think it's a great place to shop and to have fun when you come as a simple visitor, but unfortunately, it's probably become the worst convention for cosplaying  v_v  But still, JE is usually the French convention that foreign people choose to visit first ^^

Magellan Palace

The biggest Con in Spain is Salón del Manga in Barcelona. It's usually in late October or early November (this year it's on 1-4 November). It becomes bigger and bigger every year, with more and more people coming from every town (and even some from other countries!)

Biggest one in UK is London Expo, with about 15,000 visitors. There used to be a lot of problems for cosplayers, but the last one was this weekend and they seem to have improved it a lot, now I think it's one of the best cosplay events!

We have a few foreign visitors, this time there were cosplayers from France, Finland, and there's a group of scandinavian cosplayers who usually visit too.

So, how many people come to Salon del manga?

Haha, yeah I agree, Japan Expo was the my first French cosplay event too lol

D'abord Londres, ensuite le Monde!

Here in Italy si Lucca comics! It's usually in late October or early November! Every year is alway bigger and funny! The cool thing of this convention is the place: The city streets and the medieval walls! 

Germany biggest Convention was (!!!) the AnimagiC (Bonn), last July-Weekend, but this Year it was beat by the Connichi (Kassel, in september) by the people.

 

AniC was germanys first Convention ever and is organised by the magazine "AnimaniA" (germ. first m/a mag) but....time changes everything. Now the AniC is just really expensieve (I buy nearly the same for one weekend anic as for one the japanexpo... _; and I have less fun....)

 

I wanna come to a german conv. comes to KAssel: More fun,better Locations for shootings and the Con is more for fans~ ^^~

Oh wow! I was shocked by Orihime's fact about the London Expo being the biggest convention in the UK XD... I thought it would have been AmeCon! In fact... does the London Expo even count as a convention? O.o As it's just one big dealer's room... Ah well! That's pretty cool that the London MCM Expo is the biggest in the UK xD
