GasuKan 5.0: "Blossoms/Within My Heart"
Theme for May's shoot: "Blossoms/Within My Heart"
Date: Sunday, May 4th
Location: Freeway Park/Washington State Convention Center in Seattle
Start time: Noon (see bottom of post)
I'd like to announce our first GasuKan ever with a dual theme! Hopefully this will allow a little more flexibility for those who choose to follow our themes.
"Blossoms" is a prop theme. You are encouraged to incorporate flowers, particularly cherry and apple blossoms, into your outfit. Whether they're real, fake, made of paper, or printed on a part of your costume, try to make spring flowers a part of the outfit. This can also be interpreted as a general "spring" theme, or think "blossoming" (as in romance or talent).
"Within My Heart" is meant to tie into the Good vs. Evil/Morally Ambiguous theme we discussed before. Is your character "good" or "bad"? Maybe they just don't care about so-called socially acceptable morals. Maybe the world sees them as evil, but it's more complicated than that.
You could also interpret it as "what's within my heart". Do they have a secret dream or desire? Maybe a crush they're too shy or stubborn to admit. Show us your character's inner world.
Special notes: Thanks to some awesome scouting photos by SvK, it has come to our attention that the area surrounding the convention center looks fantastic at night. I'd like to suggest we shoot daylight photos until around 5:00 or 6:00, then take a break for dinner and costume changes. Anyone who wants to can return to the convention center for more photos. Sunset should take place around 8:20.

Night time!
Oh Oh Oh!
A chance to wear Axel again! The idea of a nighttime shoot is very tempting.
I have a new job that I am required to work weekends til at least 5:30pm...so that evening shoot sounds WONDERFUL.

as someone whose only been in that area for con. . . wheres the best place to park? and where exactly is the park? I never strayed too far away from the center itself, so I just wanna know in case it's not easily visible or something. . .
