Done laying around, done procrastinating, done being lazy. I spent the entire day being lazy and watching tv, and I gotta say...it's pretty damned boring. Tomorrow I'm going to hit Goodwill and try and find a blazer for OVA Integra. I -just- decided that I want Integra's double breasted black coat from the OVA, mostly for the formal cosplay ball at A-fest. I'm not going to kill myself if I don't get it, but it'd be nice to have it so it'll match the mask that I have. If not, I may wear my Orden uniform, since it's black and silver anyway. I think I'll also take tomorrow to finally finish up Integra. I want to go back (since I haven't hemmed it yet) and interface the jacket so it falls better. I'm still not entirely pleased with the drape of the fabric, but I think that interfacing it will help a great deal. I need to find a red tie, which I'm sure my dad has somewhere. Okay, I just checked, and Dad doesn't not have a red tie...I'll have to pick one up while I'm out tomorrow. I'm glad I finally have motivation again. I want to get these things finished, get back to working on stuff.

Hmm...I think I might be getting burned out. O.o For the past couple of days I keep getting really easily distracted from my cosplays. I'm only a hem and a zipper away from finishing Integra, but I just haven't touched it. Caterina's Cardinal outfit still needs a bit of work, and I know exactly what needs to be done, but I haven't touched her in weeks. Thank the gods that at least my Orden uniform is finished, otherwise I wouldn't have anything done for A-fest. :-/ I spent the entire day scrapbooking and exercising. O.o What the hell is wrong with me? Despite the fact that I'm not working on any cosplay at the moment, I keep planning more! WTF? I've added two more costumes onto my to-do list - Helga von Vogelweide from Trinity Blood, and The Painted Lady from Avatar. Shutup, stop laughing. Yes, I am an Avatard. Leave me alone. Buh. My cosplay want-to-do list just keeps growing and my motivation keeps waning. Blarg. Well, I'm going to the midnight premiere of the new Batman movie tomorrow, and I'll probably do little to nothing during the day before that...maybe I just need a couple of days of vegging out to get me back into the swing of things.

Why? Why a month an a half before a con do I decide on two more costumes? WHY?! RCO Caterina is DONE. ~happy dance~ All I need now is the wig, and I should be able to order that on Sunday. ^^ Then, happy pic time will ensue. I managed to find more velvet for Cardinal Caterina by cannibalizing an old Arwen costume. There was enough fabric in the sleeves to make the entire cloak! I've already sewn it together, it's just a matter of adding the ginormous crosses and all the little scrollwork and such. Might take a while, but I can work on it between other stuff. I'm finishing up the corset and main dress today. Whew! As for the new costumes...I had an extremely strong urge to cosplay Battle Integra from Hellsing. The uniform is made of extreme awesome, and there's a Hellsing photoshoot set for 9PM Friday at A-fest! Very exciting! ~bounces around~ The other costume is going to be extraordinarily last minute...Ingrid from Street Fighter. My friends and I all wanted to do a cosplay group together, and we finally decided on Street Fighter. Thankfully, I have almost everything I need for her in my fabric stash, so it shouldn't take more than a day or two to get that outfit done. Blah. A MONTH AND A HALF! What the hell and I thinking?

A-fest is a mere two months away, so it's circling in my mind constantly these days. Costumes are coming along nicely. I should have my Orden uniform up to 98% by the end of the night (just will need the wig), and I think I can finish my Cardinal's outfit by the end of tomorrow. Ashlotte is another story...I need to get my hands on some gesso so I can finish her armour, some spray paint, etc. She's only at about 35%, but if I work at it every day until the Con, I can probably finish her up. Unfortunately, there's the little matter of actually fitting into my costumes...Caterina is salvaged from an old Victorian gown that I wore when I was 16. I'm not 16 anymore. So, until A-fest I'm going to become a Calorie Nazi. I'm going to try and keep it below 300 calories per meal, I'm going to do at least 2 miles of walking/jogging every day, and every time I feel hungry between meals I'm going to do some sort of exercise...jumping jacks or something. I figure, for every craving, 50 jumping jacks. If I'm craving sweets, 100. Hopefully, I'll lose about 20 lbs by the time A-fest rolls around. Hell, I'd be happy with anything, really, as long as I don't look like a blob in a costume. I'm going to start making lists of everything that needs to be taken along. A-kon was definitely the Con of a Thousand Notions, where we had every single possible thing we could need to fix a costume...except what we actually needed. There was a really cute pink portable sewing kit at Wal-Mart that I want to get to carry stuff for the Cons in, it'd be amazingly useful. Since I'm sort of on the topic of costuming, I think I'm going to have new photos of my Caterina and Orden uniform shortly. They're on the verge of completion, and if I get my wig in pretty soon, then I should be able to take some pretty spiffy pictures. I'm going to try and get Mel to go with me. ~cough-hint-cough~ She wants to cosplay Isaak, and if we can get that finished up pretty soon, then we could take some excellent Orden pictures. Especially if we wait until like...3 AM...and take them downtown. Bwahahaha! ~cough~
Why do I have such a short attention span? I work on a costume for a week, and I get so tired of it that I have to put it away for a while. It was that way for Ashlotte, and now again for Caterina. I -swore- that I was going to finish her up today...all I had to do was put in the underskirt, add the sleeves, do the collar, and finish the hat. All in all, it should have taken maybe three hours, tops. The most I've done with Caterina is...move it across the room so it doesn't block the TV. ~dies~ At least I wasn't -completely- unproductive today. Rosenkreuz won my heart again, and I ended up working on my RCO Caterina. It took the entire day, but I finally managed to get all of her pins sculpted. I had forgotten the joys of Sculpy! There were some things that might have been a bit unnecessary, like sculpting the roses instead of just getting some little roses from the store, but I really like how they turned out, so it was worth the time. I even managed to find all the correct paint colours, so they should be all finished up before the end of the night! Very exciting. ^^ I'm not sure what I'm going to do for the patches. I really just want to get them commissioned from one of the ladies that work at the Husqvarna Viking embroidery machine store, but I don't have any spare cash to do that. I may be able to scrape together some spare change for it, though. I really need to get back on Ashlotte if I'm going to have it finished in time for A-fest. I've finally figured out what I'm going to do for her armour, it's just a matter of doing it. I'm still a little burned out, though. I worked on it non-stop for so long that I don't really want to touch it now. Blah. I guess I will, though. I should really set up a schedule or something. Day 1: Ashlotte, Day 2: Caterina, Day 3: RCO, lather, rinse, repeat.
Bwahahaha! I win! I WIN! Take that, you blasted cardboard! Arrows, done. Hat, almost done. Corset...half done. Okay, it doesn't sound as impressive like that. But The Hat is nearly finished, it just needs a little bit more embellishment, and I ran out of fabric before I could finish the corset. :( A whole big write-up and in-progress pics are on my Cosplay Blog.
Mom and Steff are off to Alabama to officially move her into her new place, which means that for the next week, I get the entire house to myself! I've already spread my stuff out all over the living room, and pieces of Caterina and Ashlotte are everywhere. I'm finally getting off my ass and finishing Ashlotte's jumper. I've had the supplies to do so for about a week now, but I was so tired of working her that I put it off. Now, I finally have that stupid side panel figured out, so I'll be able to fix it, get the lining cut out, paint the outer layer, and get it all assembled. I should be able to finish all that up in the next couple of days. Caterina is progressing nicely. I've finally finished all the skirt panels and have them pinned to the bodice and ready to go. I'll probably pull out the sewing machine soon and attach the sleeves so I don't have to think about them anymore. I went ahead and made her hat because I couldn't resist, and now I'm trying to figure out the best way of making all those blasted arrows. I have two different prototypes, neither of which I'm entirely happy with, so now I have to try and find something in the middle. I should be able to hammer out the arrows in a day or so once I finally settle on a final look. Hat of Doom! ~cough~ It's a great hat. I should probably finish up those Elizabethan gowns that I started two months ago...but I really don't have any umph to get back to work on those...at all. I'll do those after A-fest. The card reader is being stupid again, and now it won't read the memory card from the camera, which means no pictures for a while. :( Hopefully, that'll get fixed soon.
After working on my bloody Caterina skirt all day long, I really need a break. I've managed to finish quite a bit on it...I painted all the scrollwork and attached all but one to the skirt panels. Now I'm just finishing up the detail painting and lining the panels. Blah. I'll be so happy when this skirt is finally finished, I'll probably dance. My mom and sister are going to be gone almost all of next week, and I think I'm going to take that time alone to clean out the garage and sewing area. I hardly have any room to do anything, and Mom keeps complaining that I'm spreading out all over the house, so once my sister is moved out on Sunday, I'm going to move all of my dress dummies into her room, and finally get my army out of the living room. I wish I could totally take over that room, put up posters and shelves and get everything organized into a proper sewing room, but since she'll be moving back in a year I wont' be able to. At least I'll have the garage to store stuff in. ^^ I'm determined to finish up Caterina's main gown by the end of next week. I should have all of the skirt panels finished tonight. I am determined to have them finished tonight! I dug the corset out after leaving it alone for a long time, and discovered that I had actually already put steel boning in it, so I don't have to worry about cable ties or lumber strapping or anything like that. However, I can't seem to find the extra fabric I had, so I can't put the ruffles on to finish it up. .
