Back from AMA

Lunar. Sonic located!!! Cosplay. Hellga. More Lunar. Randomness. Crazy car ride...

http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/ama2008/photos/

ANYHOW!!!! I had a lot of fun again this year! Granted, the set up didn't work so well, but I totally understand. I went with it. :D The skit panel went well. I will have to ask for more time next year if we do it again. Hall judging went great. Masq backstage was a mini Katsu. lol Not a kitchen, but close. :D Tikki and all of cosp staff did a wonderful job once again. It really is my favorite convention to be involved with. Whether judging or participating, it's... amazing. I look forward to AMA every year because of them.

::zones out::

And back.....

so.... we won um... BEST IN SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We still have no idea what the other skits were since we were lined up elsewhere before and after. :( I look forward to seeing video! I just so happy that people actually KNEW Lunar! SO HAPPY!

Serge posted the Lunar video. Ups and downs. Random weird things that always happen on stage and never in practice (whether good or bad), end of stage is close lol, and just a tad too small for a skit like this with limited mobility. And here I thought Becky gave a huge butt shot.... she didn't lol. Just a teaser. :D

So, if ou ever wanted to know what it was like to sit RIGHT in front of the stage, here is the view. lol And by right up front, I mean I could have held a conversation with the judges or walked on their table. lmao

Today is my first scheduled Friday off. I like it. :D Even though it's the same amount of hours, I now only have to be at work for 4 days.

Although.... people from work kept calling my cell phone this morning. 2 wanted me to pick up their shift. Another thought I was working already and wanted me to pass a message. I just wanted to sleep (I stayed up really late last night.)

My mom called me as well. It seems they (family) are going to TGIF tomorrow night around 9:30 for my cousin's grad dinner. I'm on the fence about going. I do have a plethora of people at my house and seiwng to do. lol Dessert anyone????? I'll have my 1/2 off card with me. I'll prob be in charge of doing the call ahead stuff since they are at graduation. But yeah... I could go for a Peanutbutter Pie or some Dark Chocolate Cupcakes right now. (I want you to know that when I typed "cupcakes" I actually typoed and wrote "cumcakes.")

Work yesterday was decent. Grad party after gra party. I was on crew/to-gos, so I enjoyed that. :D On wed I didn't get tips from any to-go people, but yesterday was absolutely different. I also had some guy order 9 Brownie Obsessions and he wanted them heated. What a mess... a.... DELICIOUS mess.

Tora and I had our GLTs as well. Mmmm ... watermelon. I wonder when they will have Twisted Melon. After that, I dragged her to Sally's. They didn't have the dye (for my hair) or the extension color (for Hellga) I wanted so I opted for 613. I went home and inserted those fast into another wig I have for Hellga. Fast= kinda tossed in and don't care because it's just Hellga. :D

I watched So You Think You Can Dance because I love that show. I also caught some Soth Park and Ace of Cakes. I needed some brain mush before sewing....

And then, I sewed. I cursed out some faux fur. I cursed out some lining. I cursed out my sewing machine. I even banged my head repeatedly on my desk. A simple dress shouldn't be this much work. I plan to finish that before 5. The sleeves are now in. They need to be hemmed/ruffled... depending on which sleeve part you are talking about. I hope the rest of this goes more smoothly.

Today..... sew, eat, clean, grocery store (ANYTHING YOU GUYS NEED IN PARTICULAR???), sew, stare, hang out... and sew together! Wooo!!!

Tomorrow is skit practice, BBQ (all are invited, just let me know if you are coming please), maybe dessert at TGIF??, sew, sleep.

So much sewing... one would think there was a convention coming up. Hmmmmmm... WOOOOOOOO!!! AMA!!!!!!!!

LizzySandwich: i feel like with every KH wig, I'm an enabler... like KH is some sort of hot new drug
Celes Dragon: *laughs*
Celes Dragon: What makes KH wigs any different from a FF wig. The number of spikes?
LizzySandwich: the quality of the game
LizzySandwich: the more spikes, the worse it is
LizzySandwich: i miss the polygon days. there was only so many spikes you could do!
Celes Dragon: *laughs*

Sorry guys, I loathe KH. :D

Sakura Matsuri in DC
Posted On 04/12/2008 20:37:05
I went to the Sakura Matsuri today. I'm BEAT!

http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/outings/sakuramatsuri08/

Photo excerpts:

My first Metro ride. Metro? What's that? A bus? A train?? I found out! :D

The only evidence that I participated in the Cosplay Contest.

The Lizzy proclaimed: I NEED CHICKEN ON A STICK!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I was the girl on the Starbucks Truck

I'll settle for being a plane.

I love to eat turtles. Turtles love to eat themselves.

Bubbles doesn't feel so well.....

My day ended with a pseudo-subway area for the Metro. I was very excited.

After years of trying to go, I finally made it to this festival. It was nice seeing cultural stuff besides omganime!!!!!!!!! and squealing cosplayers. Although, I was not spared the "free hugs" signs. :( The cosplay in general seemed not too noticable, but perhaps I'm conditioned to it.

I did do the Cosplay Contest. And no, I did not walk around. lol Becky and I changed in a tent the size of well... a tent. We then walked on stage, waited, announced winners, changed ASAP. I wore Polka I won 3rd place. lol I acquired $25 for it! :D SWEET! I got to talk to some cosplayers and actually met the person I did the Ravi/Lavi commission for last month.

Once we were done, Stu met up and we walked around. Me, Paul, Stu, Becky, Robbie, and people that Becky knew. :D I'm terrible with names. TERRIBLE. I want to say Ed, Scott, and his GF... that has a name that sounds like Ayeka from Tenchi. ^^;; We had a great time goofing off.

We purchased some chicken on a stick. I tried that gummie thing with that paste in the middle again. It's for sure, I hate it. I thought I was going to gag realllly bad. :/ I had to remove it ASAP. ^^; We then went looking for Authentic Japanese ice cream since we just had authentic Japanese chicken on a stick. The ice cream truck did not have Mario ice cream. My dreams of authentic Japanese ice cream were shattered. I settled for TMNT! :D

While getting the ice cream... a horde of bicycling policemen road by ringing their bells. It must have been 30 of them! Crazy! lol Kathy showed up about this time. Woo!

We all walked around more. Some went separate ways, but we all met up in the end.

Overall, I had a fun time. I finally rode this... Metro... thing. When's the next outing!?! :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I skipped Ollie's super awesome BBQ due to my own lameness. I really wanted a nice bath and I have sewing to do. :(
I made chicken and rice for dinner. Once again.... DELICIOUS! :D
And... yeah.... I'm spent!
I-con Stuff
Posted On 04/06/2008 20:37:53
Here are my I-con photos:
http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/i-con08/
I got back an hour or so ago. We drove home slower and colder. Something is wrong with Brandon's car. It's overheating, but no heat comes out of the vents. He's getting it checked tomorrow. It stopped after a while, but the air stayed cold. It's probably a clog somewhere. All his fluids are full. At any rate, it's getting checked out tomorrow.
So.... I-con.... :D
On Friday I did a bunch of running around before heading North. We left here at 10:30am, after Brandon spent 30 minutes prior changing his wiper blades. It took me to show him how, even though I had never done it before. ^^; He was more worried that he was doing it wrong even though he was right. We got to Beth's around 1pm (Lodi, NJ). Yes, in 2.5 hours. We didn't stick around long, unfortunately. We then left her place (which felt so weird to NOT go to a con without her!) and headed to Stony Brook, NY.
I'm sure all of you know, if not, you will know now. The G.W. can got to hell and die. :) That's actually the only place we hit traffic. Bleh!
We arrived a little before 3pm. We beat the "locals." Brandon and I grabbed something to eat in the union (I-con is at a campus). We the proceeded to stand in line for 2 hours in the cold, with some annoying guy behind us, a ferangi guy that smelled in front of us, and a crowd that kept growing. The annoying guy kept thinking it was funny to say to people "drop something!" And.... make fun of costumers. Also, poked fun at anime being all like pokemon. Brandon chimed in on the joke NOT being funny. I chimed in on it being cruel to make fun of people... and the followed by me stating to him that anime isn't just for kids nor is it all porn and that he should get his facts straight and not assume. I listed off some animes he should watch to "broaden his horizons." ::Twitch::
So, we finally get inside. I check pre-reg for my badge, no go. I check staff, no-go. I check guests, sort of a no-go. I was on the list, but they couldn't find the badges. The man I was dealing with was wonderful, in a good way. So wonderful that he accidentally gave me 2 badges (Brandon was with me) to fill in instead of one. :D
Kat arrived, we got her badge... sort of... couldn't find her's, but did find mine. lol Lauren arrived, found her's. They ended up finding Kat's after calling the panel person. (She was awesome, btw.)
We went right to our panel Group Cosplay. It was entertaining. :D Then there was food, dealer's room, and hanging out.
Saturday was mainly spent in a room... judging costumes... and being lied to 70% of the time. I can see your costume store tag, kthnx. I think it was quite an eye opener for Carrie and Lauren. To be honest, I'm used to people entering bought things and trying to pass it as their's. Granted, I-con had a lot more that other cons I've judged. :( I did get to hang out with John, Sonnya, and Jessie though! Woo! They broke up the monotony. We make animated flip books, ate pizza, and goofed off.
After judging we ate (I think? I can't remember.), dealer's roomed, art showed, and video gamed.
Off to the cosplay! :D Oh happy joy! Everything's great... then.. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!! Speakers no go. Audio no go. :( We dancing penguined for a bit, did the wave, told some jokes, talked about April Fool's day, watched John to handstands.... (we=audience, John, judges)... I think it was about an hour and a half before we started back up with new speakers. Woo-hoo! John= SAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After the cosplay, we GTFO!!!!! So spent, so hungry, so tired. Wendy's was had. We prepped for the Sunday panel. We slept.
I woke up at 3am to someone pounding their fist on our door as loud as they could. Due to me being startled and a fan of Ghost Hunters, I couldn't get out of bed to investigate. Brandon told me in the car today that he heard someone in the lobby bitching about it as well. So, it wasn't a ghost! :D
Today... woke up, dealers room, tea ceremony/origami, What not to Cosplay panel. The Panel was a SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!! It was a tips/tricks/oops! panel. The was a good 30 people in there. So happy! (Good job Lauren!!!) Want to email Otakon about it??? AUSA????
So yah... that was my I-con, I think. I'm so not awake at this moment. I'm trying to talk to Robbie too and I'm sure he's having fun trying to decipher my sentances.
I really had fun hanging out with everyone!!!! The Panels were awesome. Thanks for letting me be a part of that. Thank you to Jamie for letting me judge! And thanks to everyone for making it a great time!
Will I be back? My words to Lauren were "If Patrick Stewart shows up."
I-con and more
Posted On 03/31/2008 21:48:39
Apparently I-con is this weekend.  Who knew?! :D  It snuck up on me.  I still have no clue what I'm bringing cosplaywise.  I'm leaning towards The Burger King.  ^^
I'll be co-hosting the Group Cosplay panel and What not to Cosplay panel (tips and tricks panel) with my good friend Lauren.  The both of us are also judging the masquerade.   That should be interesting. :D
I know I haven't updated in a while here.  I've been working a lot as well as pumping out commissions. I'm actually in the middle of a 10 minute break.  I'm working on 3 wigs as once tonight.  All are tedious, so I've been switching back and forth so that I don't get all moody. ^^
Let's see...  "Agent of Cosplay"-wise....  we've been practicing our AMA skit.  When I say practice, I mean goofing off.  It really can't be helped. lol  We also are about to start practice of Otakon.  We have 2 skits to do for the half time thingy.  :D  Super excited!!!!
Other than that....  real life has been the same.  Work, hang out, sleep.  I did get my hair totally chopped off.  It's really short now.  Apparently I'm sporting the "Soi Fong" hair today. lol
Alrighty!  Back to wiggin'.
