Back from AMA! SO much fun!!!
Best of Show!!! OMG!!! My friends and I did a skit to Men in Tights. SO much fun. I'm so glad everyone liked it!
Sadly, I must go to bed. I just wanted to post the exciting news! ^^;;; SQUEE!!
PS- this place needs more mood icons..... or at least let me change it. UGH
Time for AMA. WOOOOOO!!! Oh the excitement!

About Cosspace: I know I went and "friended" a lot of people. (incoming run-on) Some are close friends, some are aquaintances... others are people I've seen around on line and seem pretty nifty and others are people whom I look up to in the community. I know, sounds silly, but I admire people for their costume work and presence. I look forward to hopefully learning more about everyone! I also like talking to new people, so add me if you'd like. ^^
Another note: I'm totally lame with layouts, putting pictures in stuff, TYPING lol, and so forth. I'm lucky my computer doesn't explode really. ^^;; So... yes... lame layout it shall be! Hooray for blue! (fave color liek omg!1!!!11!!eleven)
And for the stuff about me....
I'm 29. I've been living in MD my whole life so far. Ooh ahh. Right now, I'm basically "crashing" at my mom's house until my fiance' and I find a house. (Btw... mom= totally cool. She's bitchin'.) We originally had a contract, but the sellers refused to fix the roof that have MAJOR issues. So, we said screw you and are back to looking. Hopefully, we'll be out of here by Otakon. As much as I love my mom and am having a lot of fun here (no sarcasm at all), I feel weird living here. I've been on my own for 8 years. I feel like I'm imposing, but I know I'm not. I hope that makes sense.
I'm getting married December 15th. Christmas wedding. Awe! lol As I mentioned in my profile, we've been together for almost 9 years. It's about time we got married. Ha! We are about to register for the dreaded wedding classes. Bleh. I'm not a big fn of this, but it's something we HAVE to do. I'll deal, I suppose. : )
The husband-to-be: Brandon. 29 in August. NOT a fan of anime. : ) I swear I've seen him peek over my shoulder when I've watched Hellsing, Bleach, and X. He used to was DBZ on CN. ^^ Anyhow! He's a HUGE gamer. I thought I was bad.... he takes the cake! Right now, he's upstairs playing Guitar Hero. Name it, we have it. Well, minus the PS3. We opted for the Wii instead. He's not a "Nintendo fan," but went with it anyhow. We really haven't played it much. I did get Warioware for my birthday and have been playing that. I think that's the most it's been used since the system came out! Brandon is usually playing his 360.
Let's see..... work! TGIF. WOOOO!! 5 year anniversary was this week. I got my 5 year packet. I get to chose a gift for being with them for so long. Hee hee hee. Sooooo love working there. It's very good for the whole con thing. I can take off whenever I want to go to cons, even at a moment's notice. Which reminds me... gotta check my vacation hours! But yah.... I also do New Store Openings. No traveling too far yet, BUT I was told to get a passport, so in the next year or so I may be going out of the country for training. That would be neat! Heck, going across country would be wonderful. We'll see. I know I won't be doing anything until January due to wedding plans.
Family: No kids. I have a mom and dad, divorced about 5-6 years ago. Dad has a long time girlfriend. Mom JUST started dating again and she's pretty swoon by a guy. It's totally cute! It's so wonderful to see my mom happy again. After the divorce, she has been crushed. : ( Now, everything is looking up. Hooray!! I also have a younger sister and an older brother. None are into cosplay or anime, though my brother goes to horror conventions.
School: I tried it. I originally was a biology major. I did wonderful in every biology class I took. The rest.... chem and physics.... yeah.... as much as I tried and studied, I couldn't pass a test without getting anything higher than a D. Crushed, I left college.
Cosplay: I started at Kastu 8. It was the WORST Summoner Yuna anyone has seen. I mean this. ::laughs:: Even though it was pretty bad, I really enjoyed putting it together. It started off with my mom helping me. I would cut patterns, sew the "easy" stuff, and she was show me how to finish things. I picked it up pretty quickly and just took off. My mom got me a sewing machine for X-mas one here and I've been a non-stop sewing feind ever since. (I used to go to my mom's to work on stuff.) I tend to sew or do something coaply related every day, even if it's for an hour. It's a stress reliever, it really is. I'm still learning sooooooo much about cosplay. Not so much the sewing part, but now in depth wig stuff, armor, props (which I still fail at, but that's ok!), so on. I tend to do "simple" costumes and then one "big" one a year. I got the big one out of the way this year already (Yuna) for Katsu.
Competitions: I have always entered hall costume contests to pass the time, see how I can improve, and meet people. If I win anything, Hooray! If I don't, Horray! Skits are the SAME deal. I'm in a cosplay group called "Agents of Cosplay." (A night of walkie talkie tag is to blame for the name.) My friends and I love to put one a show for the audience. Seeing and hearing them enjoy it what's important. Of course winning is fun, but it's not a top priority and will never be. I know it sounds strange... entering a competition and not fighting to win. There's a fine line. We find staying away from the absolute competative part keeps all the silly high school drama away. We're too old for that anyhow. lmao!!
I guess that's enough of an update. If you read all that... wow... you must be bored! ::winks::
Today is dress rehearsal for our skit. For some reason I'm all jittery. I suppose I'm really excited to see everything together. I think it's teh first or second time we've had EVERYONE there. Rock on.
The devil hamster passed away during the night. All that is left is Bear. He's not even a year old, so we have a few years to go with him. ::sighs:: Oh well I guess. I feel heartless because I'm not relaly too sad about the evil hamster passing. She was just so mean... but cute! ^^;;
What else.... yesterday I went out with Jen. We went shoe shopping for my wedding. We also found some cute shirts, so bras on sale, and other random things. Excited, eh? After that I went to the usual "Halo nite" with the Agents. Not so much HAlo this time around since everyone was finishing up their costumes for AMA. That's ok though! We got to hang out otherwise. My costume has been completed for a few weeks now. I also had to make 2 more for the skit. Those have been completely done since last week. Ahhhhhhh... relaxation before a con. So nice!
Quick back story: I have 2 hamsters, Bear and Satan (though she has other names as well). Satan.... lives up to her name. Pure evil, but oh so cute! She was a rescued hammy and was corrupted by her first owner. Only my fiance' is able to hold her/pick her up without her attacking. Bear... is just adorable and lovable. He's another rescued hammy.
Satan/Devil/Blumpkin is on the way out my friends. The evil hammy is struggling. She's bleeding, but I can't really tell from where (It's nothing like OMG EVERYWHERE otherwise I'd be freaked.). Very lethargic. Not attacking. She looks absolutely adorable right now. O.o Sounds terrible doesn't it? I made a vet appointment, but I'm sure there's nothing they can do, so it's a moot point. Normally I wouldn't make appointments, but the bleeding thing is strange to me. Brandon's taking her though. I'm going out with Jen. ^^;; Not that I don't care about my hamster... it's just that... it's Satan and more Brandon's hammy than mine.
I cleaned the cage and left only paper towels, water, and some food. IF she is bleeding from some sort of wound, I don't want anything getting in there. I cleaned her off, but I swear I can't tell where the bleeding is coming from. :(
I woke up this morning to the fan shutting off. The AC stopped at the same time. I guess it sounded odd to me even though I was fast asleep. Turns out the electricity shut off. Some sort of brown out. (And it isn't even hot yet.) I stayed awake so that I wouldn't fall asleep and miss my alarm. Bleh. I got to work early because of it. I was bored sitting around at home.
Work was decent. To-go orders were pretty steady. I got out on time and was able to go to Micheal's without rushing around. I didn't find much, just a thing or 2 for liz and tora (though, since you were SOOOOO busy tonite, you can't have it until tomorrow!).
Let's see... I'm currently chillin' out, waiting for someone to stop by for their costume. ^^ Woo hoo! I think I might step out really quick and get a gelati. As for the rest of the nite... "privy making party" apparently. lol So.... it'll be off to Chris and Andria's for the nite. I'm so beat, but I promised I'd come! Must go! ::falls asleep::

I had a nice relaxing b'day. Thank you for the well wishes! I luv you guys! Most of the day was spent doing nothing. I woke up around 12:30 since my dad randomly stopped by. We hung out for a little and then he was off. After than, I lounged around... played on the internet and vaccumed. lol Brandon got me Warioware for the Wii. I must have been pretty excited because I dashed up the steps.... and fell. I have a few rug burns and a banged up knee. oops. I never said I was graceful!
Let's see, I had steamed crabs for dinenr and a Carvel ice cream cake for dessert. Jen was caught in the birthday song a la family, since she was on the phone with me. (Does that sentence even make sense?!) Good times.
My sis and I played Warioware and Wii Sports. She's never played it before. I was cracking up sooo bad when we were playing golf. Let's just say, she refuses to ever play that again.
I know, quiet. No big party. It was relaxing, something I needed.
Today.....
Within one hour I was pumped full of so much sugar at work. I'm talking M&Ms (dark and peanutbutter ones), homemade rasp cheesecake, soda, one of those HUGE pixie stix.... oh... and Chick-fil-a nuggets. We celebrated Kojo's and Shanda's birthday as well as mine. Lots of fun. We had decorations too. ^^ The end of the shift was pretty funny. We were all watching tennis. Kojo and I got a birght idea (due to sugar, most likely) to play imagination tennis. We had a great volley going on. Well, great until Kojo's awesome backhand had me reaching and... um.... I twisted my ankle. Mind you... there was no ball and we were only moving 2 feet back and forth. I fell right on my ass, began to crack up, Kojo picked me up, and I got SO dizzy (har har, dizzy lizzy) that I had to hold onto him for a moment. Yes, I am a klutz!
What else... I had a stupid table. : ) One of the first things they asked me was "Why are your burgers $8?!" ::smacks head:: "Why is this sizzling apple thingy sizzling everywhere?" ::rolls eyes:: "What is my chicken charbroiled?" ::beats head into concrete:: Why this, why that? Stupid questions! $5 on $45 with them. Aren't they so sweet? I knew it was a lost cause when they asked me why the burgers were $8. Oye!
I cannot believe AMA is NEXT weekend!!! Wow!! Time seriously flies. I'm absolutely excited. I'm doing an embroidery/beading panel again as well as Hall costume contest judging. I can't wait to see everyone! Who else is going to AMA?!?!?!?

Hm..... my next convention is Anime Mid-Atlantic. I am SO excited!!! It's by far my fave convention of the year. I'm a hall costume contest judge again. So excited! I love seeing all the costumers. It's a great way to meet people. I'm also participating in the Masquerade with my friends (Agents of cosplay). We LOVE doing skits. It's so much fun to entertain the audience. Hopefully this skit will be entertaining. ^^;; ::crosses fingers::
