Hi folks sorry for not writing for so long. Back from AX. It was perfect, right?
WRONG.
Cosplayers, people, Anna Tsuchiya, Dealer's room, Masquerade press photos, karaoke--Great.
Everything else--terrible.
Most importantly the organization and communication or lack thereof of the AX and LBCC staff--worst I ever seen at a con. Gawd I was so angry the first day. This is supposed to be the best con in the US? Not by a long shot. I won't be kind in my con report.
Will I be back next year? Doubtful. Too bad. The cosplayers and photoshoots were awesome.
Well I have photos up of Day 4 and the aftermath so far:

They're also up at anipike.com as well but I need to clear out disk space there to finish off Day 4 there.
Keep ya posted when the rest go up. See ya!
Hey folks.
So here's the deal. I'm heading to AX on Wednesday with friends. I'm a bit skeptical about AX. You see last time I went was '02, and I was disappointed with it. I thought it was poorly run, the staff wasn't too polite, and some congoers were being snobs and others were just downright noisy and rude heckling at the masquerade and other things(there were some nice people though too). On top of that everything was expensive.
I'm mainly going this time around to give it a 2nd try. I have a lot of friends going this year, plus I hope to get some great press coverage including photos, checking out events and maybe interviews with musical guests like SKIN. Also there will be some good gatherings that I'll participate in too.
So I am skeptical but hopeful and positive and I'm starting to get excited. Maybe I'll see some of you there.
Oh you should check out this site where you can see and share anime stuff like cosplay photos, avatars (careful some are inappropriate), wallpapers and even anime episodes--without downloading them.

I thought it was pretty cool.
Anyway see ya at AX!
So Wednesday night I attended the special screening of the Naruto Movie 1: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, at Pacific Place in Seattle. I went to Westlake to meet people earlier but I couldn't find anyone. Around 6 I headed to Pacific Place to pick up my ticket, and there was already a good line-up going for the movie. I brought My Lee costume just in case there were other cosplayers, but I dunno I just didn't feel up to it to wear it, plus I didn't know anybody else there surprisingly. I did bring my camera, so here are some pics of the night at this link:

Yes Naruto fans come in all sizes and age groups
It was a sold out show, although there seem to be empty seats here and there. They had some ads for new Naruto video games and DVDs coming out, and then like a video on the "world of Naruto" with the creators of the English version of Naruto and some of the Japanese version too. The movie was shown in digital format but it still looked great. The movie itself was great, and watching it with a bunch of Naruto/anime fans screaming for their favorite characters made it a whole lot more fun and enjoyable. I like the fact that Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto (and Kakashi) all get to kick some butt in the film--equal opporutunity. After the movie they had a "making of" documentary about how the anime was made, and they talked to both the voice actors of the 4 main characters of both the English version and the Japanese version of Naruto. At the very end there was written message from the creator of Naruto, who was very pleased with how Naruto is embraced around the world inluding the U.S.
My friend B (Itachi) invited me to go to IHOP with them afterward. We stopped at Gameworks first then to IHOP, where we met another cosplayer friend who was cosplaying a very good Sasuke as you can see inthe photos.
It was a pretty fun night.
Got back from Fanime Con last night. Boy it was fun. I had plenty of time to cosplay, but also plenty of extra for photoshoots/taking photos. Currently editing near 500 photos! Lots of great Cosplay at Fanime.
Unfortunately Mari Ijima wasn't available for an interview--too busy which is understandable. I WAS able to meet her, talk to her for a couple of minutes, and get a photo and autograph.
I'll let you know when photos are available for viewing, and I'll put some here. Back to work!
Well here is my first entry here at Cosspace.com, and it's perfect timing as I leave tomorrow for San Jose and Fanime Con. Sounds like it's going to be a good year. I hope they improved the karaoke room though. I'm also a con reporter for Anipike.com and I hope to get some guest interviews, such as MARI IJIMA! Plus I want to increase my cosplay photo count too. We'll see what happens. Plus I have 2 friends who are attending for the first time--I hope they like it.
Anyway see ya all there!
