Short Anime North con report
Posted On 06/07/2007 11:34:34

I just got on this site yesterday. It looks promising so far. I was never a fan of MySpace - I joined, it ate my password and won't let me remove the stupid photo I put up. xD And Tom was my only friend!

My most recent convention was Anime North 2007. It was great to spend time with friends who I don't see regularly (I hadn't seen one of them for two years!). I participated in one cosplay chess match and watched the second one, I watched Anime Improv (a perennial favourite), and I watched some of the skit contest, but I left after realizing that a lot of the skits were just... hell to watch. Too many uncoordinated dance skits! I popped in and out of the anime dating game, because it was filled with crazy 4channers shouting memes and crap. xD; I missed the masquerade because I didn't get a wristband earlier, and there was no "overflow room" for a live screening.

Bought a few things - some really nice prints, the "All Colour But The Black" Bleach artbook, the FMA: COS Limited Edition, three manga and loooots of food.

Cosplay: I wore Fai D. Flowright from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle for most of the convention, because I'm really proud of it. (I used the same with for Tamaki from Ouran during the weekend, but it's faaar too long for him. I need another wig!) I won my first cosplay award on the Sunday for Fai - a hall costume award. Yay!

I had a blast at the Ouran photoshoot. The first CLAMP shoot was a lot smaller and less organized, and the second one was tiny! I had a lot more fun at the Ouran shoot. :3

Overall, it was a pretty fun convention. There were a few low moments - losing my camera bag (camera not included, but there were eight rechargeable batteries ;_; ) and my con badge at the same time, feeling nauseous on the Sunday, and avoiding pesky con staffers who want to get rid of me for silly reasons. I feel like a lot of things have changed since my first few conventions, but it's still pretty damn fun. ^^
