So Sumomo won't be finished in time for Fanime. The software for my embroidery machine won't be coming in until who knows when and the other stuff was going slowly so I'll have to wait until the next con I go to :( Jane from Daria and Death from Sandman are both finished though so I'll still be taking 5 costumes!

On a side note I'll be going to SuperCon (hopefully) in San Jose this Saturday and I'll be bringing Death!

I got an embroidery machine!!! I don't know how to use it yet but it's gonna be AWESOME!!! Finally I can do the swirlies on Sumomo's sash, the trim on my Undead robe and lots of other stuff!

I keep distracting myself from one of my costumes. It's a fairly complicated costume, or at least it's an easy costume that I'm complicating for competition. Every time I think about what needs to be done to finish it by May (finding a method for embroidery, mixing dye and coloring the wig, making the hat, etc.) my brain keeps going "Oh hey! I bet Cooking Mama would be fun to do, and easy! Oooh, how 'bout Jane from Daria, that's already half finished! Emily Strange! You could find a dress like that at Goodwill or Old Navy! Oh, if you get a new wig and blazer you could squeeze in Death too!"

Stop, brain! Stop! Stop! Stop!
I will get to those eventually, maybe even in time for Fanime, but now Sumomo is top priority. Granted it may feel more fun and satisfying to pop out 4 or 5 costumes in 3 months, but it will be worth it to have one competition worthy costume made from scratch that people will love and are looking forward to. I've already put off my Undead and Lucy again, I can't keep slacking off on these.

Yay, so Judy Nails is finished, save for dyeing my hair! Misa just needs a little bit more! I need to alter a couple wallet chains and cut holes in her arm stockings and that's that!

I feel a little silly. I just happened to be at Hot Topic and they had all the last minute things I needed including red eyeshadow for Judy, wallet chains for Misa and stockings for Floorshow! Columbia. Some cosplayers bitch about others depending on HT for everything but sometimes they have just what we need because really, where else would I find red eyeshadow??

Yargh, so I've got about a month until SiliCon. Time to finally finish Misa (I forgot she wasn't done!), figure out what's going on with Columbia (commissioning 2 major pieces) and then decide whether to take Etna or not. If I do she needs some fixing up and I need some toning up. I'm also thinking of throwing another costume into the mix. I just got my hair cut yesterday, looked in the mirror and went "Holy crap! I'm Judy Nails!" of Guitar Hero 1 fame. It seems pretty easy to do, and when my purple washes out I just have to put in red (I can't believe it's colored the same way too!). So yea, expect to see some Judy IP pics sometime soon!
