My friend and I competed in the WCS prelim a few days ago. And now... I can sleep again! :D First, here are my pics: http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/nyaf08/I really didn't take much of anything. :( Paul and I in our Beatmania costumes: The drive was easy, thank god. I chilled in the hotel room for a bit while Paul finished his coat lining. After that we caught the NYAF shuttle and saw Lauren, Beth, Brian. Their Artist Alley table was so cute!!! Dinner was had at some Chinese place. Some bum came in trying to get free food and the Chinese guy told him to leave or he was "kirr" him. I just about lost it. ::giggles:: We took the shuttle back to the hotel and hung out. Beth left. :( Becky and Lindsay arrived some time after. Oh, our hotel room had a bidet. I'll be posting a video later of that craziness. :D Although it had a bidet, there was no iron. O.o We had to call the front desk for one. Saturday came fast. We got ready for the day, caught the shuttle, and did con stuff. I hung out at Lauren's AA table, practiced, got judged, practiced, tried to eat, walked around, did a couple pics, practiced, performed, enjoyed the Masq, took a taxi, ate foooooood, and fell asleep while mini convo with Lauren (I think). Sunday was the whole packing up, short trip to the con to hang, and then off to home. I went over my mom's and showed her stuff from the con since she was really excited about the whole thing. lol When I got home again I crashed. Crashed only to wake up and have to work. Boo! WCS stuff: A masq is a masq except with a lot of great skits and awesome costumes. I got to meet and see a bunch of peeps. The rehearsal was well ran (I did flub the practice run on stage. ^^;;; You mean I'm suppose to catch the records?! lol). I liked having the emcee there for it so we know what'll be basically going on. Everyone did such a great job and I'm so happy for everyone involved. I have nothing but a positive experience from this whole thing. Every group cheered each other one and celebrated after each skit. I really, honestly, had a great time with this event. Like I said in my last entry, I would do it all over again. I was hoping to basically embed the ACP vid, but he is being a dork and not allowing.... and "rickrolling" people when you try to watch the skits. I'm currently uploading the version I have form my camera that Lauren took. Once that is posted, I'll post it. In the meantime, here is the link for the ACP vid in high res. I'll spar you the rick-roll. http://www.acparadise.com/acp/vid/4508/hOh wait.... it finished! You can watch here if you want.

I've been pretty much a hermit for a few weeks now. Not counting Halo, d*con, or random events this weekend. I made myself go out on Saturday to dinner and the movies. I was about to call Brandon and cancel when Becky called me about information about the movie. :/ My stress level is high. I do nothing but concentrate on whatever it is I need to do and block everything out. It doesn't help that now I'm PMSing so I start wondering how me locking myself in my house all day (if I'm not at work) affects people... if it does at all. I've been completely lame. Seriously lame. Jen is RIGHT down the street and I can't even get my ass out of here to go see her. I keep saying how I'll go tomorrow, then tomorrow comes, and I push it to the next tomorrow. Like I just said to myself, "I'll see Jen tomorrow" and then made a reason in my head to not go down there. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. In 2 weeks I have to complete 2 wigs and almost 2 full costume. Plus, work, clean, sleep. I didn't realise September was already here. I sat myself down and did an entire Yuna skirt yesterday. Obi is the next day I have off fully (and then the bra thingy, so I'm pretty much set). The 2 wigs are really close to being done. I sat down and worked on a Yoruichi. It's just about done. I didn't expect to get it all done in one sitting. The other one is a Link wig. I have a few more spikey type things to do and that's done. Then, there's my costume for NYAF. Doh! The good thing? I LOVE doing the above. :D The bad thing? I'll be in my room here for a bit only to come out for work and food. (AND TO SEE FRIGGIN JEN!) Jen- You totally be available tomorrow around 3:30-4. :D I'll call. Knowing my luck, she'll be busy. :/ Stop it, you're just making an excuse to be anti-social. ANYHOW!!! Work. Day Two of Plate/Nacho Me- Who am I with today? Martha- No one. You're on your own. Me- kwhfjwhegfujw!!! HELP!! Martha- Lizzzzzzyyyyy, I'll saaaaaave youuuuuu. I just needed a little help setting up. I had only seen it once and well, that was a week ago... and the guy really didn't show me. Everything went well. I didn't screw up this time. I made 4 nachos. :D All under 7 minutes. Wooooo! Okay, it was dead dead dead. If I needed help on this dead of a day, I'd be in big trouble. I did have 5 orders at once and I did fine (unlike last week). So far, so good? It was a good thing I was on P/N today. The girl that worked my server station had made $12 by 2pm. I would have hurt someone. I was going to work tonight but seems they cut the floor before the night shift even came on, which meant my station was cut as well. It's never been this bad. Never. I fear for the holidays. What if it doesn't get as busy as it should? Garble Garble

Here are my pics: http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/dcon08/There is a bunch of pics of Lunar in the middle of all that, just scroll through. I was going to do this whole Dragon*con post with epic photos and blah blah blah.... I then realised I'm pretty spent. I'll just write the minimun. We (me, Brandon, Miah, and Dave) got to the airport at 5am, after only sleeping an hour. Our plane left at 8am?? I think. I can't remember. I don't like flying so I try not to think about it. :D I was craving pizza before the sun rose. To me, I only took a nap and it was time to eat! Breakfast? What's that?! I settled for some sort of not-good-for-me chicken thing from McDonald's. Ew. I chose poorly. I don't even like that place. I should have gotten PIZZZZAAA! Moving on. The flight was fine. We flew through and above the remnants of Fay. Ooh ahh. I posed with invisable Beth. :( She would have been my plan buddy. So sad. Ummm... Every time I had just fallen asleep, something would ding or there would be an announcement. Got into Atlanta. Bag claim was fast. The MARTA was easy to find and took us RIGHT to the Peachtree Mall/food court (which is attached to the Marriott and Hyatt). Even though it was uber early, we were able to check in right away! Awesome! 36th floor. Awesome hotel. Wonderful comfy bed. Can soda for only a dollar. SHOCK! We chilled in the room for a bit and then headed out for the Aquarium and Olympic Park. Miah stayed behind and slept. The Aquarium had Whale Shark. WOOOOOOOOO!!! They also got a new manta ray that week and got cuttlefish THAT day. Rock! It was nice inside. No where as many fish/exhibits as the Baltimore Aquarium.... but it had whale shark!!!!!!!!!!! We walked across the street to the Olympic Park. I'm a nerd for the Olympics, especially after JUST having them. Go USA! We played in the fountains... got wet... and walked back to the hotel. We then got our badges and then.... We ate/slept at some point. Friday started off with me not being able to sleep. Bed was TOO comfy for me. Paul called, I think at 8am to get into the room. Totally exhausted, I barely remember the conversasion nor him coming in and stealing the covers from me. (I fought back.) Brandon was up and exploring while the rest of us were dead. I think Dave went too. I dunno. Point is, I got up finally around noon? There was a Ghosthunters panel I needed to go to that's all I know! So, I saw the Ghosthunters. Dave and Miah came with me. I ran into Jamie/Pixiekitty and her man. We discussed much about GH. I really can't remember Friday too much. I know at some point Paul and I were hanging out and we went to see Jennifer/Becky/Cristi/Serge/Jon.... Camille and Sara showed up at some point. We left, I think food was eated, and the Paul and I went to the Costume Contest. Woo hoo! These 2 things were either Friday or Saturday: Ummm.... I went to te vacuuforming panel. Level up? I think I actually get it now. Durrrr.... much hanging out.... we saw Voltaire. Meh. Not my thing at all. I thought I would like it, guess not. I watched the Caberet on the TV.... it wasn't close to the Caberets I've seen. I can't tell you what night that was. I know I watched the Masq on the TV on Sunday! :D I know I went to a fang panel and airbrushing on Sunday as well. I also know that I had a Midori Sour and ate much cake that evening. Hooters! We did that! We got them to sing Happy B'day to Paul. Har har. Too bad the service was extreeeeeeeeemely slow and the food sub-par. :( But still, a fun time! OH! I met all the Ghosthunters minus Jason since he didn't come. I got my pic taken with them and had them sign my hat. Woo hoo! That was the highlight of the con for me. I saw some people, but still missed others. I continuously seem to run into the same people. Although, it did help that we were basically meeting up anyhow! I got to hang with peeps I rarely get to see like Jennifer and Andy. I also got to hang with Camille more which rocks. I always hear everyone talking about Camille and so on. lol She's no longer the "pink-haired girl people know" to me. :D hee hee hee. I ran into Amanda and Lisa at odd times. ::looks at the rest of my FL that went:: And you! You avoided me like the plague! I kid. Too many people in 4 packed hotels. And here I thought seeing everyone at Otakon was impossible. D*con makes Otakon seem to be the size of AMA! :D Am I going next year? Damn straight. So much for making this a "once in a lifetime" trip. Tora, Kathy, Liz, JEN!!, Andria, Chris, Stuuuuu, everyone up north (that's right, I lumped you!)...... you ARE going next year. I won't take no for an answer. (Okay, I can take a no from Andria but ONLY because she's a teacher and there's that whole school thing. I guess that would also mean I could take a no from Chris too. Someone has to help Andria tackel Evan.) POINT IS.... go... or else. No really, go. I can see why people would skip Otakon to go to this. Just think.... no squealing fangirls with Yaoi paddles trying to hit your husband whom is dressed as Light. Think about it. Think about it REAL hard... you can't say no. Hee hee hee.

Otakon pics: http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/otakon+2008/It was a busy weekend for me. Somehow I didn't see as many people this year. :( I'm glad to see the people I did though! Sorry if I was out of it at points. I know I definately needed sleep. I spent most of the con in uber PMS mode. By the end of Friday I wanted to just cry. Not that things were bad, I was simply exhausted, nervous, some things didn't work out as planned, and just overall blah. Friday morning started out rough. The drive into Otakon was horrible. I live 20 minutes tops from the con (including parking/walking time). It took me an hour and 15 minutes to GET to the con. Random lane closure, full garages, semi lost... Oye. I had to be at the Hall Costume Contest to "check in" at 10am. I really had thought that I lost my spot since when I DID find their location (and finding a door that Otakon would let me in at.... Charles St lobby), it was already 11am. I've never been late for anything like that before. Granted, I was just entering for the hell of it, but still wanted to make a good impression. Thankfully, I was fine. I got my judging slot for about an hour later. I went to a restroom and put on the rest of my Luna costume. I found Stu (more like Stu found me!) and we hung out. We found Greg as well, in line for the Hall costume contest. He too ran into the same insanity as I. I get judged. Woo! You would think I would be able to talk normal during judging. Nope. I still stutter, forget words, and act like a goof. Thanks for putting up with my craziness. After that, Stu and I wait around with Greg as he gets his judging time. We then head to Starbucks in the BCC. Somehow Stu and I lost Greg, but found Lauren. :D We then found Sean! Woo!!!!!!! My darling Sean! I luv you. :D Walking around was done, found Jen, found Greg. Hung out with Shelby and Matt. Needed food. Found food (Paul doesn't like hot dogs. lol). Hung out for a bit while waiting for Michele. Ended up outside for a bit for photos, missed Michele. I still luv you. (Btw, I totally didn't get your "in the game room" message until 9 that nite! What the hell, Verizon!? Checked in at the hotel. Unloaded car. Hung out, found Serge/Cristi. Watched some of the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics (WOW!) Later was skit practice. Tried for the Adult Cosplayers panel only to have it full. :( The only panel I wanted to attend. Saturday morning came. I got into Polka and headed to my beading/embroidery panel. Last year 6-8 people for the workshop... this year..... 60 PEOPLE! SIXTY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Lauren and I just about s&%$ ourselves. I freaked. I had only 30 packets for everyone. :/ The volunteers were a godsend. We originally told them we're low maintainance, then... 60 people happened! This is more than all of the beading panels combined! Meep! Thankfully they were a great crowd. Lauren did have to put a teen in their place since she was basically mocking Lauren. Sorry, but you're just not funny. Doh! After that, lunch and change. Off to rehearsal. We spent a good portion, wait, the rest of the day in the Arena, minus costume change/quick dinner. I saw about half of the Masquerade... The Masquerade. ::Sighs:: Maybe it was my PMS and having heighten levels of emotion, but I just wanted to cry when everyone was supporting that girl singing on stage.... they did that cell phone thing (cuz lighters are so passe'!). Normally people boo and it made me happy that, just for once, they crowd was mature and supportive. That being said, someone should have told her this wasn't Kareoke. ^^;;;; Just as mature as we, as a whole can be, it turned south with the insane amount of Yaoi skits. I'm sorry, I really am, but I DON'T want nor need to see anyone eat each other's faces off on stage. I know, I KNOW there are other things you can do besides a mainly Yaoi skit. I don't mind the quick Yaoi drop. Like, I was ok with the "Kingdom Hearts... blah blah blah" one. Let's see, I was shocked to see 2 Eternal Sonata skits! I did miss one though. I saw the Charlie Brown one which had me laughing!!! I liked the Cake/L. I was cheering on the colorguard girl since I like guard. But yeah, I did miss half of the skits due to set up. I heard the flute player, but I'm over that since she did something very similiar last year as well. Don't get me wrong, it was awesome, but not as "wow" for me the second time. We did the West Side Story/Tetris exhibition skits during the half time show. Us, being stupid dorks while hopefully entertaining the masses. It was a lot of fun do to. But finally, SKIT PRACTICE IS OVER for 90% of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Basically, we've been practicing EVERY Saturday since November '07(although the main group never did their Katsu skit, but North did Deathnote). We're spent. :D Anyhow, hopefully people liked the skits. We know WSS was prob the one people would either like or not considering it was WSS. Tetris is fun for everyone. Shocking results, I won First Place Craftsman for Friday in the Hall costume contest with Luna. I think I yelped a lot backstage. O.o Me, in all black (from tetris), holding a flag and running out onto stage. lol Must have been a sight! Hahaha! I hurt my ankle as well. (That wass a total of 4 times at the con, btw.) Greg won 3rd place. Woooo!!!!!!!!! Sunday was Sunday. I got into the Dealers Room finally, only to spend 15 minutes in there before having a visitor say hello. Sonuva! Packed up stuff, had lunch, hung out, and came home. It took me an hour to get home. Mass exodus from Otakon as well as the ballgame... all at the same time. Bah! So yah, that was the short version. Crazy stuff happened, but people seemed to have covered it in their journals already! lol I gotta get ready for PR now!

Lunar. Sonic located!!! Cosplay. Hellga. More Lunar. Randomness. Crazy car ride... http://www.agentsofcosplay.com/gallery/v/ama2008/photos/ANYHOW!!!! I had a lot of fun again this year! Granted, the set up didn't work so well, but I totally understand. I went with it. :D The skit panel went well. I will have to ask for more time next year if we do it again. Hall judging went great. Masq backstage was a mini Katsu. lol Not a kitchen, but close. :D Tikki and all of cosp staff did a wonderful job once again. It really is my favorite convention to be involved with. Whether judging or participating, it's... amazing. I look forward to AMA every year because of them. ::zones out:: And back..... so.... we won um... BEST IN SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We still have no idea what the other skits were since we were lined up elsewhere before and after. :( I look forward to seeing video! I just so happy that people actually KNEW Lunar! SO HAPPY! Serge posted the Lunar video. Ups and downs. Random weird things that always happen on stage and never in practice (whether good or bad), end of stage is close lol, and just a tad too small for a skit like this with limited mobility. And here I thought Becky gave a huge butt shot.... she didn't lol. Just a teaser. :D So, if ou ever wanted to know what it was like to sit RIGHT in front of the stage, here is the view. lol And by right up front, I mean I could have held a conversation with the judges or walked on their table. lmao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtR8VamVcXk
