I’ll be studying at an intensive theater conservatory for the next few months, so I’ll be taking a bit of a hiatus from cosplay for the time being. I’ll also have next to no internet access. To all my friends, have fun at AB and any other cons I’m missing! See you in May

Does it bother anyone else when a poll ignorantly does not accommodate for most points of view or else is just plain stupid??? 'Cause its becoming a pet peeve of mine. Also, RENT is a Broadway musical NOT a movie.
Those of you who know me know that I am not easily angered. Generally I take things as they come and try to be increasingly accepting of people and situations. This just goes too far though. This weekend at Connecticon, my friend and castmate in the musical was dressed as Aeris for our show. In the show she got teased, had rocks thrown at her, got stabbed, and got kicked, and played it all off VERY well without so much as a single complaint. After the show, though, some people thought it would be funny to CONTINUE throwing stuff at her as a joke. The rest of the day she was chased (while she called for Con Security to stop her teasing pursuers), teased, and had random objects thrown at her. Included in these random objects were soda cans that still had liquid in them and glass ramune bottles. WTF? That is NOT cool. Now, I do understand the four or five Sephiroths chasing her through the halls. That I can't really complain about because as annoying as scary as that was (especially in the context) she WAS dressed as Aeris. But throwing things at her? Luckily she took off the parts of the costume that were mine before the damaging things were thrown at her, but regardless that is unacceptable! I really don't know what to do about this. I know the people who did this will never get in trouble because who knows who they were, and they'll never own up to it or probably even feel sorry for what they did 'cause if they were mean and careless enough to do it in the first place, why would they care if someone told them it was wrong?
So, my next-door neighbor from college last year just commented on my livejournal to say she's going to be at Anime NEXT. ...what? lol...my cosplay and college worlds aren't supposed to overlap like this XD Too bad she already graduated and doesn't cosplay. Why am I the only cosplayer at my school Ok, really late now...I should be in bed which is where I'm going
Connecticon looms not two weeks away, and I am *STILL* working on my costumes. This is, however, much better than most years when I START my costumes this close to the con ^_^; The problem this year is just that my mom works now, so every time I have a question it means either calling her at work, or waiting until she gets home, or both. So far I do not have as much work done on Aeris as I want. I was totally stumped on how to alter the dress, and a bit intimidated by the jacket (which I think I can handle now, but the first priority is the dress!) but now its just a matter of DOING. As for Ino, I'm really pleased with how most of it has come out. All the stuff I ordered is in, though the unitard is at my grandparents house until my mom can bring it back Wednesday since I ordered it at a dance store where they live. The shoes came today and...are not what I had hoped for. They're WAY too big and cover my toes too much.I'm going to see what I can do to alter them though. Luckily this isn't my competition costume, though I'm exceptionally proud of my work so far. I may re-make some aspects in the future and actually use it in a contest some day, but for now I'm going to leave it as is. Everything else is going well. The hotel room was booked well in advance and though Mia's possibly dropping out will cause higher prices for the remaining four of us, it will mean more room and a MUCH more convenient convention for me overall. The musical is also looking good. I can't believe its almost here. I have honestly been spending my whole summer up to this point preparing for this convention. What the heck am I going to do when its over?
Winry and Elena are DONE! I bought the gloves today and sewed up the tube top to fold more easily, so TA DA! Winry's done! Also, I found a black blazer in my grandma's stuff that she gave us, and added it to some black pants, a white button down, and will be getting a wig and tie from Andrea tomorrow, so there it is: Elena's done too! Now to work on Aeris and Ino and I'll be done. For now at least
I've finally gotten started on my new cosplay projects of the year! I don't count the two Yunas from April because they were revisions, but I have selected the fabric and pattern (both that I just happened to have lying around!) for Aeris's dress! If I had my choice I'd use a different fabric, but its the right color and my mom got it out of the closet for me and its never been used, so I'd feel bad wasting it by getting something only slightly different. I've also got Winry almost done! I bought the bandanna yesterday and now just have to buy gloves and alter the tube top. Its not going to be anything spectacular, but I'm only using it for the cosplay musical so no biggy. Speaking of which...looks like I better go learn my lines eep!
