Well, AX was somewhat of a blast. I didn't get to hang out with everyone I was looking forward to hanging out with (I mostly passed people on my way somewhere, or they passed me on their way) :/ My new costumes were hits and not... Benio came out awesome (minus the shoes killing my feet), Ayame was recognized a lot (but I stupidly didn't get any pictures of myself in it), First Hokage (crackerjack) was....okay...lee-buddy and I had a lot of costume malfunctions while wearing our armor, and were in pain for quite awhile from binding (we went too tight), and need to completely overhaul the armor before wearing it again. Our casual hokages were a helluva lot more comfortable, even though we only wore them for an hour or two. Estas came out pretty awesome (I just need to add more holes to the belt-it was loose) and people kept thinking I was LINK lol. He doesn't have a pimp hat xD I wore Vaati for a couple of hours, but had to leave the zelda gathering early because my contacts were killing me and we needed to grab masquerade tickets. I had my secret Avatar costume done, but was too exhausted to wear it on monday, so its premiere has been pushed to comic-con. Now I'm looking forward to the Socal Summer gathering (and apparently ignoring the fact I'm going to comic-con lol) where I'll be wearing Adiane from Gurren Lagann :3 I bought all the cloth for her Kimono today and will start working on it shortly, then I need to get the stuff for her corset, tail, tattoo, wig, shoes, etc... I can't wait to wear this costume.
So, AX is literally RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. I'm less panicked then last year, since I only have one costume left to finish at this point, but at the same time I feel like I should be panicking since I've lost motivation to sit down and work on this costume. I've done so little on it the past couple days, that its crazy.
Maybe I lost motivation because I know I have more than enough time to finish it, and I work best under pressure..... But I'm also REALLY looking forward to my last new costume of the year that I'll be starting just after AX. I WANNA START ON ADIANE RIGHT NOW. GRARGH. BUT I HAVE TO FINISH DAI LI FIRST, AND THEN MAKE IT THROUGH AX, AND THEN LET MY BANK ACCOUNT RECOVER A BIT BEFORE I CAN START. I also really want to work on my comics again xD
I find that with a lot of my cosplay stuff lately, when I finish it, I don't feel like I made it. Whenever I look at pictures of my Vaati costume, I'm STILL in shock that its me and I made it (its been 5 months!) Right now, I'm a bit in shock at how the armor I made for my friend's Lief costume came out-its looks so awesome tht I'm having trouble believing I made it :/ It should be AX now so I can see how it looks on her :3
