Wicked was wicked!
Posted On 01/03/2008 16:51:00

*warning* This is going to be a LONG blog!

OMGosh!!!  So we went to see Wicked, and the only thing I was looking forward to was seeing Melissa Fahn!  (Sad, huh?)

The reason I was so pumped to see her is because she is the voice actress of Edward in Cowboy Bebop, and has always been my favorite voice actress.  When I found out she is also in Wicked, I was stoked!  Not to mention that she's Glinda's understudy, and she's now in the LA company!  ^_^

So every time the chorus was on stage, I had the binoculars glued to my face looking for her amongst all the others.  It was hard to spot her while they kept singing and dancing; all that moving around made it difficult to pick her out.  Finally, my salvation came when they all sat still during Dr. Dillamond's class!  Immediately, I handed the binos to my mom, and whispered, "There!  The one in front of the red-head, behind the guy with the green hat!  That's her!!!"

OMGosh, I was so stoked, and for the rest of the act, I kept trying to pick her out and keep up with all the costume/scene changes.  It made me sad when the chorus kept covering their faces with books before "Dancing through Life."  But I finally found her again!  She had the most amazing dress at the Ozdust Ballroom!  ^_^  It was so pretty!

Well, during Act II, I tried to find her again to point her out to my brother, but I was unsuccessful...  but I went to get her autograph after the show.  I even brought my Edward plushie!

When she walked out, I immediately exclaimed "Ms. Fahn!" and she came right over.  The first thing she said to me, after turning to the man walking with her, was, "Meet my husband, Joel.  He was playing the drums."  No pun intended, but I was so happy I could melt!  (Says the percussion major.  ^_~)

Well, she signed my plushie, and Joel signed my brother's playbill since my brother is a drummer as well.  And somewhere along the line, I vaguely remember giving her a hug (I was so excited I could hardly contain myself, and I think the excitement got to my head and jumbled my memory...  lol).  Now I'm on a mission to join her official fansite, and hopefully I will get a chance to see her playing Glinda someday!  Heck, someday, I may even get the honor of playing in the pit alongside her husband for one of her musicals!  That would be the ultimate honor!  But for now, I'm off to pack for ALA '08.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my wonderful experience!

I believe in HASH MARKS!!!
Posted On 08/10/2007 00:19:14

OMG!  Words cannot begin to describe how awesome today was!  DCI! In Pasadena!  At the Rose bowl!  And I was there!

I know this is a cosplay website, but drum corp is just so freakin' awesome I had to write about it.

The Cadets will never live this one down: As the second to last corp to perform, the hash marks had been whisked away by the previous performances.  They got all set to perform when the drum major stepped down, just when the judged called ready, and demanded that new hash marks be laid down.  Being one of the top corps in the nation, one would think that they could do w/o ANY lines on the field, but no.  Their cocky attitudes gave them the guts to demand hash marks and then march back off the field until their hash marks were restored...  LOL  Their show (titled, "This I believe") turned out to be rather corny, and solicited many sarcastic remarks from the audience involving the words "hash marks".

That had to be the most comical experience in drum corp I've ever witnessed!

Ugh...

It is now 6:49 am, I just finished HP: #7 and hour ago, and I'm exhausted...  But alas!  Sleep evades me!  I must go clean horse stalls before I can lay my sleep-deprived body on my quiet, soft, cozy bed...

I'd write something about the book, but I'm afraid to spoil anything for anyone, knowing that my best friend has yet to finish the second half due to her unfortunate circumstance in being unable to attain a copy right at midnight.  Therefore, I'll refrain.

What's a blog?

... Um, what's a blog?  Actually, I should be asking, what do I do with it?
