Over the past few months I've been discovering just how odd I really am. Well, maybe odd isnt the word...but I cant think of  better one. Hmm, lets just say it's gotten harder to fit in with people in the "real" world. How you ask? I have a story to tell...

So last night I went to check out the website of this conventions i'll be going to, the New York Anime Festival. At first I thought it wouldnt be a big deal since... to be honest New York sucks when it comes to anime. But I looked at the special guests who would be there....and thats when I saw... Yoshitaka Amano... O.O... I my heart stopped for a little while, and I stopped breathing. Then I screamed (keep in mind that this is 3 in the morning) I still cant believe he is going to be there. Its definantly a dream. My excitement hasnt died down yet.

For those of you who dont know (I bet alot dont know -_-) Yoshitaka Amano designed most of the characters, enimes, logos, and iconic points in the Final Fantasy series. He did concept art for 7,8, and 10 and is very important in the realm of FF....which is my life, i'm a FF fanatic ^__^ So basically...the guy is a god to me.

So yeah... my reaction basically showed just how different I am from all the other people around me... and that it's going to be difficult to hold a normal conversation with people in school (which starts next week...crap) So, anyone else have moments of shear fandom? Or problems with "average" people and not being able to relate?

Well, my fangirlism has always been apparent to me and my friends...but I think I have finally done something that will always be remembered.

Why you ask? Well today, August 23 is my beloved Squall Leonhart's birthday ^.^ And what do people do for birthdays? They throw parties...I hope you see where this is going. Yep, a party with cake(s), music, serenades, dancing, presents, and whatnot. But on the other hand, my best friend (a Cloud Strife fanatic) also celebrated Cloud's birthday today. Thus making us equal in our fangirl affairs (we always have been ^_-)

The sad part about this is that 1. This party was planned 6 months in advance. 2. I've done more extreme fangirl stuff before. and 3. Since everyone knows I'm so obsessed, no one thought of this as weird.

But on to the point, fangirls and boys, ever done something like this? Or maybe something different? Or nothing at all? (In which case it makes no real sense to resond to this, but go ahead and...whatever)

Ok well, I was wondering how many people use patterns for their cosplays. I for one dont, and never have. Most people have thought it was weird that I havent ever used one, and that I just make stuff by eye. Kinda makes me think i'm just really lucky. But on to the point of this small ramble.

Oh great people of Cosspace, do you use patterns for you cosplays? Or do you make stuff purely  by using your eye? Or, some other thing that I havent thought of cause I didnt think there was a third option?

Hmm...I should make a poll of this... Anywho, thank you for listening to my eh... thoughts. ^.^
     

Anybody else have the feeling that they're obsessing over making new cosplays? At first I just made one to keep myself occupied. The next thing I knew I had 4 new costumes in my closet O.o Not to mention a list of future cosplays. And geez is that a long list. I wonder if anyone was ever sent to the psych ward for cosplaying..I might just go look that up.

Eh, I guess it's not a bad hobby to have. Hmmm...no not at all, actually maybe I should start on another one. Yep, thats what I feel like doing, no point in ignoring the temptation I guess ^^ I'm off to start another cosplay XD
