Hi kids. First I just wanted to plug the Gasukan group here at Cosspace--you can find it at the bottom of my page. For more coverage you can also go to Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=17195743925&ref=mfI'm very excited because I help maintain this page, and it's very fun and it's for a good cause. I enjoy helping out. cosplay news: you'll see some new additions on my cosplay list. First off: the Chun Li costume is nearly complete and will definitely be ready by August and probably even sooner. Just need to get a couple of things to make the legs look right, and the um...chestral area as well. I mean come on it's Chun Li, and you know me I want to look accurate. I'm very excited about the finished wig, it's probably one of the more detailed wigs I'll be wearing in all my years of cosplaying. Currently in negotiations with cosplay for a title I nearly forgotten about, but really enjoy: Gate Keepers! There'll be 2 characters I'l be doing. One I can do myself, and the other I'll be getting plenty of help to create. This will be really fun! There's also more plans for Ani-Maid as you can see. Yeah I know I just debuted Ani-Maid Blue, but Ani wasn't totally satisfied, and she wanted an additional transformation so I concurred! Let's not forget stuff for GK as well, as I am getting excited about that. I almost forgot! I'll be moderator for some crossplay panels coming up! First will be at Fandemonium, of which I may be the sole moderator. It should be interesting. I should also mention I'll be musical guest as I was last year. I hope to put on a good show. I'll also have a crossplay panel at Kumori Con with 2 other moderators. It's going to be a late night panel, meaning our topics and discussion can be a little more LOOSE. Should be VERY interesting. Later this year...it will be the first year anniversary of Gasukan! My gawd will it be a year already, Kumi-chan? Also we just found out about a new con in our area called Aki-Con. We're ecstatic! That ought hold you over for a while...
I haven't blogged in a while since like March! What's been going on? Sakura Con was pretty good. Things didn't go as I hoped exactly, but that's the way things go sometimes. Good things come to those who wait, and sure enough in May at the next Gasukan I got to see and wear the Ranma-Romeo costume--it was beautiful! Thank you Kumi-chan! Between there I attended my first Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, and I actually had a somewhat better time than I did at SC--more relaxed, less stress. A good time. I made a quick Speed Racer costume and was a minor hit with the con-goers there. Parents say to their kids: "look there's Speed Racer, say hi!" I even saw the movie after the con closed up! No cons in May this time around--I needed a good rest. And besides with Gasukan each month I don't have to worry about going through cosplay withdrawal. Bleach was the mainstay at June's Gasukan and I had a good time with that, and made some new cosplay buddies. We had some other plans for costumes for that Gasukan, but they weren't ready yet, but as I said good things come to those who wait! Me and the new buddies also attended the Bleach movie showing with more cosplay and pics and more fun. I'll share some pics when they're all posted. What's next? Gasukan again in July. Don't know what to expect costume-wise but I hope for good things again as always. But there are "good things" all around my life... New costumes are being worked on for conventions. You can see my planned costume section to get a hint--I'm excited. Catch you later!
Hey kids. Yes it's time again, to go out in public in a hotel or convention center to wear wild costumes, take photos and just be plain geeky. I have my convention schedule planned so far: first up, ANIME OASIS NaNa in Boise, Idaho--4 days! then Sakura Con in Seattle, WA There's a nice long rest between SC and the next for me. then in August and September: Fandemonium--Nampa, Idaho Anime Evolution--Burnaby, BC, Canada Kumori Con--Portland, Oregon Hopefully I can attend a new con in Boise in November: Tomodachi Fest. That's all. I'm ignoring California cons this year as well as NDK. No need to spend so much money, wear myself out getting to cons that are either not as good anymore or just plain terrible (AX). I'm learning that quality, not quantity is where it counts. So expect lots of tales and photos soon. Maybe I'll see ya there! In the meantime here's some pics from the Gasukan shoot back in February: http://www.cosplay.com/gallery/103237/
So I was looking at my friend's pages here, and realize mine was rather boring. So I went and added some color, plus more elaborate information about my cosplays and cosplay ideas, plus myself as well. Check it out if you wish.
Hi folks sorry for not writing for so long. Back from AX. It was perfect, right?
WRONG.
Cosplayers, people, Anna Tsuchiya, Dealer's room, Masquerade press photos, karaoke--Great.
Everything else--terrible.
Most importantly the organization and communication or lack thereof of the AX and LBCC staff--worst I ever seen at a con. Gawd I was so angry the first day. This is supposed to be the best con in the US? Not by a long shot. I won't be kind in my con report.
Will I be back next year? Doubtful. Too bad. The cosplayers and photoshoots were awesome.
Well I have photos up of Day 4 and the aftermath so far:
http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j203/hkaddict/AX%20aftermath/ http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j203/hkaddict/AX%202007%20Monday/
They're also up at anipike.com as well but I need to clear out disk space there to finish off Day 4 there.
Keep ya posted when the rest go up. See ya!
