Atlanta, GA. – January 10, 2008 – Anime O-Tekku of Georgia Tech is pleased to announce the return of MomoCon, an annual anime/gaming/comics convention held in Atlanta, GA, March 15-16, 2008 at Georgia Tech campus. The convention is a family friendly event and is free of charge* to all attendees. People of all ages are encouraged to attend! In 2008, MomoCon enters its fourth year with a horror theme (the number four considered unlucky in Japanese culture) and will feature the cinematic full-length thriller Miyuki. Miyuki tells the story of an affluent American family who take in a young female Japanese exchange student. At first their expectations of a sweet and innocent Japanese girl are realized but soon strange things start to happen….a unique macabre tale of horror, part supernatural, and part psychological, Miyuki is sure to keep you gripped to your seat. [This film is unrated and is suggested for mature audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.] In addition, MomoCon is proud to host an arcade game courtyard with free to play arcade cabinets, a much larger selection in the Retro Gaming room, and additional anime viewing rooms with many new and classic titles. The staff at MomoCon is also proud to bring local groups and special guests to both delight and instruct on various aspects of fandom. Returning guests include Gina Biggs (Red String), My Little Transformer (featuring a special viewing hosted by its creators), local game developer Gamesare Studios, Bill Hollbrook (Kevin and Kell), John Lotshaw (Accidental Centaurus), craftsmen from Outland Armor, expert costumers Sith Vixen and Vader Painter, the costuming troupe Making Mischief, the Giraf Network artists resource group, and pianist Daniel Brown (who will be performing an encore of Final Phantom). The convention welcomes it's new guests Steven Cummings (Tokyopop's Pantheon High), Vampire Anime Radio, Brendan LaSalle (creator of Xcrawl RPG), Hi-Rez Studios (developers of Global Agenda), Tripwire Interactive Studios (developers of the award-winning FPS Red Orchestra: Ostfront 1941-1945), local independent artist James Burns (Grumbles as published in the Sunday Paper), webcomic creator James Mason (Urban Shogun), webcomic creator Eddie Humphrey (Teacher), webcomic creator Jarret Williams (Lunar Boy Land), expert costumer Anne Brunsgaard, and Game Producer Jon Hanna (The Virtual World of Kaneva). MomoCon continues to encourage other groups to bring their own events to their corner of Atlanta. Future plans include expanding MomoCon's Costuming and Social events to neighboring states and hosting video game tournaments in the metro area. * Attendees Ages 16 and older admitted with valid government ID (driver's license, military, passport etc) at registration. Minors younger than 16 must have an adult be present at registration to sign-off on their registration form. An adult can sign-off all minors in their party. ABOUT ANIME O-TEKKU: Celebrating its 13th year of charter, the anime club of Georgia Tech, Anime O-Tekku ( http://cyberbuzz.gatech.edu/anime ) boasts a multitude of mailing list members as well as dozens of local supporters who help with events. I had a manic burst of energy over the past couple of days and cannabilized my busted: Airhogs Submarine , Nerf Master Blaster , Nerf Crossbow , and some random parts to put together the beginnings of my 1st steampunk weapon.
* Mucho repainting, though I may outsource that. I never could stay in the lines with crayons and the prospect of multiple colors gives me an ulcer. Flat black isn't going to cut it... * The brass tube will be replaced with a bigger one. * A coil of copper pipe around the new tube tesla style. * The clear pipe will be dyed. Thinking of a cobalt blue * A battery, pump, or resovoir looking thing will attach to the pip and sit within the open stock. * Maybe an LED within the open part near the foregrip. * RIVETS!

Final Zombie Update: 2nd Chance for Late Sleepers!
Got some news for all you heavy sleepers that are still interested in zombieing as part of the Horror Spoof filming Saturday (Oct 27th).
We'll be taking late-comers up until 11am. But to be fair to those showing up for the actual start of filming, the late-comers will be ineligible for the prize raffle, most likely not be chosen for the action sequences (i.e. grabbing / mauling other actors), and you'll probably miss most of the free food. And obviously you'll miss being in several scenes.
But its still a chance to be a part of the film.
