Copy and pasted from my LJ:
Because every now and then I feel like posting what I'll be making, and it's been awhile since I did a post like this. Some plans have changed, as plans tend to, especially when you're me. I've been sticking to my guns with costume plans as of late, and I intend to keep up with that. Most of my CosplayLab "In Progress" costumes have been deleted, as you may have noticed. I figure why keep on putting stuff up that I'll never actually make (at least, any time soon, whenever I run out of stuff to do I'll probably end up going back to it, trust me).
I'll also be including descriptions, and why I really want to cosplay the character. I'm not the type to see a design and just do it because of the design - if I like a design, I will research the character and find out what he or she is like, THEN decide if it's worth it. I mean, some designs are eye candy, and for someone like me who wants a good challenge, it's always a good thing to do that sort of thing. It's just that I can't cosplay a character whose personality I can't stand. =/
I'll start off with what I'm working on now. Which would be three costumes. Again, these costumes are just my own, and don't include anything I'm making for anyone else (especially Chris, my boyfriend).
Haruhi in Wonderland - Manga Version (Ouran High School Host Club)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_wonderlandharuhi.jpg
I fear for my wallet, I want to cosplay Haruhi in so many outfits. I honestly feel that Bisco Hatori drew me in manga form and shoved my personality into the character, as well. That's how much I LOVE this character and feel an attachment to her. This is a good start, after the school uniform (which MUST be updated with a new blazer, pants, just about everything). I find Haruhi in cute, frilly things to be a rare sight, and rather adorable (Gods, now I sound like Tama). Also, Alice in Wonderland is a cool story, yo. I'm just about done this costume, I'm hoping to finish up most of it this weekend, in fact.
Wander (Shadow of the Colossus)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_wander2-1.jpg
I think anyone who reads my journal or knows me realizes how much I love this character, and the game itself. He wears some very unique clothing, which also drew me in - all of those details, and in such detail that you can even tell what fabrics would be a good choice for what. I haven't started much on this costume, but I do have the fabrics for the tabbard and the embroidery thread, and should even be getting the wig today - I will try to post progress shots ASAP.
Chii (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/cov-07-1.jpg
She's in progress whether I like it or not, and whenever I feel like doing a gradient dye and making a crazy ass pattern for the overdress with tails, I'll resume. CLAMP designs, why do you make no sense?! YOU BOGGLE THE MIND.
In The Year 2000000000000000000000000000000...and 8. Pretty much things I haven't started but will. And pretty much things that may or may not be made til after 2008. LULZ.
Marron Kusakabe (Joan d'Arc)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_marron.jpg
At least, that's what I call this dress. I like to think of it that way, since she looks so regal and whatnot in this photo. And you can even see Sindbad in the background (sorta kinda). I've had fabric for this lying around since the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and I have to just get up and make it. Hell I even have the feathers rotting in my closet. They're probably nasty and yellow by now, too...LOL...oh man. I procrastinate. I've had everything for this costume since...wow...2005? Yeah. I'll probably debut this baby at Katsu. Wander and Marron will probably both be entering, one for Hall on Friday, one for the Masque. Haven't decided which to enter in which yet though.
Pitt (Super Smash Brothers Brawl - Kid Icarus)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_kidicarusref-1.jpg
OLD SCHOOL. Though my siblings and I agree this game was annoying and crazy, but I couldn't put the controller down. I am this way to do this day. Seeing him re-incarnated in such detailed glory said to me "JANET IT'S TIME TO COSUPURAY". So I will be making this, whenever the game decides to come out and I can play it and see the actual detail. I don't want to rely on production stuff, though granted, I have seen a few people do this costume already. I just prefer to wait. ^^
Sakura (Tsubasa : Reservoir Chronicles)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_sakura.jpg
I want to make a big gown one of these days, and this is just perfect. I don't care much for my Tsubasa Sakura wig, though...I prefer my CC one. =/ I really want to make her kimono as well, but I don't know when I'll have time to do all the detailed work for it.
Yorda (ICO)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_yorda.jpg
Ok, now for some easier costumes (sorta kinda...the fabrics on this girl boggle me, it looks like they combined every fabric type imaginable into one damn dress from the way it looks to how it behaves in the game - not to mention the color gradients). ICO is an amazing piece of artwork - a game I recommend to those who can enjoy that sort of thing. Not much combat, pretty much it's all about solving a puzzle - how to get the princess Yorda out of the castle, you play as the young boy with horns, named ICO, trapped in the castle and ostracized from his village because the people believe his horns are a bad omen. It's the sequel to Shadow of the Colossus, but the game came out 4 years before Shadow did. Go figure. Left a lot of questions about the storyline, it did. Yorda is a very odd character...she doesn't seem too bright, and you pretty much need to hold her hand and drag her around the ENTIRE GAME. But there's more to her than that. Wow, just play the game, guys. YOU'RE MISSING OUT I TELL YOU. Even the Furuba manga-ka enjoyed this game, lol. If I could only find a little boy with tanned skin who is shorter than me to be ICO, I would SOOOO BE IN BUSINESS. Oh well.
Harle (Chrono Cross)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_harle.jpg
I'm a Chrono fangirl, particularly of Trigger, but also of Cross. Thanks to Chris, I got to know and love this series. Harle was supposed to be for this year, but yeah, life happens, things happen, so I put her on hold til next year. That, and drafting a crazy hat pattern and crazy glove patterns will be ridiculous. But I'm really looking forward to this, it's going to be a very fun project! SHALL BE HOTNESS x over 9,000!
Haseo (.Hack//gu)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_haseo.jpg
This outfit screams to me. Once again, it is something different to challenge me. The anime version seen here is a lot simpler than the manga version, and looks more like me, especially build-wise. I'll be making the props for this, as well. Chances are I'll go with the in-game version though, because I loves me some belts. And he has more belts in the game. Chris wants to do his armored up version, though. I say he needs to do Balmung from .hack//gu, since it looks amazing and he's wanted to be Balmung for a really long time (before I knew what a Balmung was, lol). But I think he wants to do Super Saiyan Haseo more.
Vaati (The Legend of Zelda : The Minish Cap)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_vaati.jpg
This game grew on me. Vaati is amazing for reasons I can't seem to explain well. He just is, now get over it. A LoZ baddie I can actually see myself pulling off. Costume isn't too hard, though I want it to be perfect for that very reason - no excuses to mess up on anything. Make-up will be the greatest challenge. NOT AN OUTDOOR PHOTOSHOOT COSTUME. Especially in Florida.
And now for the FUTURE...AKA things that are insane and I do not want to attempt any time soon, for wanting to put a lot of effort into these babies. M'kay?
Griffith - The Hawk of Light (Berserk)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_griffithhawk.jpg
Duderz...it's Berserk. Why must I explain anything further? I can't believe I never read this manga til Chris introduced me. The storyline is amazing, it's basically a horrific medieval fairytale. One might wonder if that works, but it does. Just like ICO, I will say this...YOU ARE MISSING OUT IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY. This is his final armor, or well, the armor he wears later on in the series. I will not give spoilers. As you can see, it's crazy armor, so I won't be touching this with a 10-foot pole for *quite* some time. However, I will be making his normal garments sometime soon, even though I did not include that in this pictoral. S'ok.
Seth Nightlord (Trinity Blood)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_seth.jpg
Everyone and their mom is doing TB cosplay right now - I want to do it later on, for that reason. That, and I want to be very thorough with the detailing, so I'm putting this on hold...WAY on hold. Seth is a character I can also see myself pulling off pretty well, and I love green. I love the challenges this costume has to offer. But I would like for my skill levels to improve FIRST. They sorta have to.
Leila Marcus (Vampire Hunter D)
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i281/HimeNoToki/_leilajump.jpg
Badass chic, big gun...mmmm. And the outfit is sexy without being revealing, something that's quite rare. Chris introduced me to this series as well, and I was hooked. Love the movies, the novels, the Amano art (ooooh Amananano). I have experience with conforming fits, stretch fabrics, and bodysuits, but perhaps not quite the skill level I would like to make this. I don't ever wish to bite off more than I can chew. And not to mention Chris's D costume...I want it to be amazing. And the expense...egads. Another reason to hold this off (as well as those other two).
And the concludes my costume list. Sans my secret projects that are very secretive, indeed. You'll just have to wait and see what crazy, random stuff I start coming out with, I guess. ^_~
*I love to note that I noticed all these characters are either guys or flaties of the chest, unless you count Leila and a few others...I find this terribly amusing. Then again I kinda avoid busty on purpose...*
