A week after the con
Posted On 07/22/2007 20:08:31

So, what have I been up to since ConnectiCon?  Well, I certainly haven't been relaxing.  That's for sure.

All week from 9-12 I was at church helping out with Vacation Bible Camp.  I was helping out as a character in the opening skit as well as doing the drama session for some of the younger groups of kids.  As for the opening skit, I got to wear silly things some days - the worst one being having to wear spurs with the flip flops I was wearing that day.  I could barely walk cuz they were too big and kept sliding off my heels.

Also all week I've had rehearsal for Carousel, which is our town's summer theatre production.  For those of you in Connecticut, I'll have ticket details soon.  I promise.  Either way, save a day between August 9th and 12th.  It's a good show with lots of great singers, actors, and dancers.  And I'm in it, duh.    In all seriousness though, it's a good show.

Then Friday night I got Harry Potter.  I went to the midnight release at Barnes and Noble.  Got there at quarter to 6, was in group one for the reserve bracelets, wandered around the store, went across the street to West Farms, went back to the store, did the scavenger hunt, and then played uno in the cafe for an hour and a half.  Yeah, I lead an exciting life.  I'm not done with the book yet.  I'm trying to savor it as it's the last one.  I'm on page 363 and I've cried 1 1/2 times and the death toll is 5.  Yeah...

Saturday I did childcare at church.  There were 2 of us teenagers (er...even though both of us were born in 87 and I'm technically not a teenager anymore) with a 2 year old.  Amusing times.  Then all the college kids went out to dinner at the new Chili's that opened up down the street.

Today I went to the beach.  I got the most awkward sunburn too.  My shoulders and face are pink, but a good portion of my back, legs, and stomach make me look like a lobster.  I actually had a ring around my belly button of red...I think I was afraid of getting sunscreen in the piercing or something.

I'll shut up now. =P  A week and a half until SoulFest.  Yay.

The end.
