News Update!
Posted On 06/18/2008 09:02:21

It's been awhile, but I'm here to announce some big changes for our website!

After a long deliberation, both Hannah and I decided not to continue having an actual website. Wha?! Let's back up a bit: Harmoniccosplay.com itself is not actually going away. We've elected to have the domain point to our very own LiveJournal community ([info]harmoniccosplay) instead. Why would we do that? Here's why:

1.) Having an actual website is a lot of work. It involves designing and coding it constantly, which eats up precious time that neither of us have. We both already have our own personal websites that we must maintain for our careers, and that's enough work in itself.

2.) We both have multiple cosplay accounts on the various cosplay websites. We're talking Cosplay.com, Cosplaylab.com, Cosspace, ACP, etc. Why have yet another website (that takes a massive amount of work) just to have duplicate photos when they're already plastered on the web 8 billion times? It'd be easier to just link to the various places from one main journal.

3.) We just didn't update enough. Updating the site took a fantastic amount of time. We just don't have that time. Also, we don't update this journal enough because it required that we log out of our own LiveJournal accounts to do so... which is a pain. This way whenever we post costume info to our OWN journals, we can just double post it to the community. Easy as pie!

4.) We can create a faux website through the use of tags. 'Nuff said. Categorization has never been easier. Plus, what easier way to embed pics and videos? Blogs just rock socks because all the coding is already finished.

So there you have it, folks. We will be switching where the domain points soon enough, and we will discontinue posting in our old LJ. If you are an account holder on LJ, please feel free to friend us and watch our updates! We might be able to do an RSS feed at some point, too... for those of you who do NOT have LJ.

In other news, remember to look for us at Anime Expo and San Diego Comic Con this year! We'll both have a few costumes to wear at both, and we look forward to seeing anyone who might be out there, too! ^^

Photos Galore and Cosplay 2008!
Posted On 03/06/2008 19:34:28

Hello all! It's been awhile since our last update, but things have been a blast! Hannah and I enjoyed a FABULOUS New Year's together (we hadn't seen each other since Dragon*Con 2006!), and had over 500 photos to mark the event. We went to Disneyland, had Boba Tea, and saw Enchanted at the El Capitan theater. We even got to go into a special warehouse after the show that housed pieces of costumes and sets from the movie! Hollywood is so cool!

We of course took the opportunity to do a few photoshoots, costume-related and otherwise. We did our Hogwarts costumes with the company of our beloved friend Steph, and FINALLY got some photos of the Senshi together! We hadn't worn those costumes at the same time since Animazement in 2004. Here is a selection of photos from those shoots that you can see if you go to our website: Harmonic Cosplay. The link is right on the main news page, where you will see a slightly different version of this news post.

Also, I finally got around to processing some photos from the Piedmont Park Photoshoot with Katie and Meru waaaay back in October! There's quite a few, and they are also located on the front page of our website.

Anyway, so as I promised I would post Harmonic Cosplay's cosplay plans for this year! So here they are!

HC's Official 2008 Conventions
Momocon (Joie)
Anime Expo (Hannah and Joie)
SanDiego ComicCon (Hannah and Joie)
Dragon*Con (Joie)

Hannah's 2008 Costumes
Harley Quinn from Batman
Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War

Joie's 2008 Costumes
Montmorency from Zero no Tsukaima
Meganium (Gijinka Design) from Pokémon
Pacifica Casull from Scrapped Princess (Unsure)

Of course, there are a few other projects in the works that may or may not happen this year, but you'll see them as they pop up!  That's all for now! Happy Sewing!

Hello Cosspace!
Posted On 06/27/2007 20:00:22

It sure has been awhile since we have updated our website, but we have both been extremely busy. Hannah has been insane with her brand new job and moving cross-country, and I have been out of the country for a month and a half!

I am trying to catch up with emails and link requests as we speak, so if you sent something you should hopefully get a response soon. Trying to catch up after having been gone so long is tough. Hannah has been more successful in working on costumes than I have, but I have always been slow to get them done. I had a very stressful semester at school followed by lots of traveling, and now I am about to close on buying and moving into a house. In other words, I am HOPING to have a new costume done by Dragon*Con, but I am not sure how well that will work out.

In any case, I will definitely be at both Dragon*Con and AWA, but Hannah is still unsure about both at the moment. As soon as we find out, we will post news.

As for website news, nothing new is going on besides adding a few more links to the links page, and creating this profile. I would really like to add some new photos, and hopefully I will have something to post after Harry Potter Month next month is over.

Happy Sewing!
