how much will you spend ona costume?
Posted On 07/05/2008 00:17:32
For those of us who can sew and recreate costumes of our fave characters .how far would you go or how much would you spend recreating it?
Some buy the cheap materials and are happy with what they have made and some go to great lengths to achieve the perfect creation, almost like a piece of art to show off to the world.
Im in between, i like good quality material but dont want to pay a fortune and i improvise. What about weapons and those wonderful things that out heros and heroines carry around..paper mache or wood?
What is the most you have spent on one cosplay?
Mine is about $120 aussie dollars with great results.. some I have heard, have spent 1000s especially for the WCS ( world cosplay summit)
How about YOU????

Who can cosplay?

The question is"who can cosplay?"
Does it matter what age, size and orientation you are?
The simple answer is no
Those who wish to spend hour upon hour making, sewing, creating a fabulous costume to show off their skill and fav anime/game characters, i say "good for them"

Alot of cosplayers grumble at people who are over 30 or "too large" to dress up, sometimes make fun of them
This is how we come together and share our mutual passions
So what if there is a 10 stone Chi or an old sailor moon, it takes alot to get up there and dress up .I say good for you. I did my first cosplay this year and my costume won first place for best female costume, im not young nor thin.. kudos to me...mwahh hahhh ahhh
What your thoughts onthe matter?
