Since I am working for two new local conventions, I figured I should do some sort of publicity work, since it has not been done well thus far. (They're a bit newer than I am.)
Toshocon is a one-day event that is mostly for people aged 13-19 (so no hentai panels or stuff like that), that takes place at Largo Public Library on March 29th. There will be two cosplay contests, a costume contest, a Super Smash Brothers Brawl tournament, a photo op, and some very entertaining panels like Para Para and Cosplay 101. There will also be a cast who will put on shows and a welcome video.
Largo Public Library is home to a cafe that is fairly inexpensive in which two very nice ladies work. Just don't take all the sugar without buying anything. They're a little bitter about that. There is also a beautiful courtyard in which a few of the events will take place.

Shukuyacon is also one day, but it takes place in the Harborview Center in Clearwater, Florida on April 26th. It is intended for people of all ages, so it should be a blast for anyone who goes! There will be contests, of course. There will be a dealer room, a game room, panel rooms, four ball rooms for a formal dance and a rave, a full-size stage, a deli, and an all-day cast to keep you entertained and in the mood one should be in during a con.
At the myspace site, you can see the layout of the Harborview Center and get a general idea of what will go on in each room. If you're too lazy to go to the myspace, it's a pretty big place. It has three floors and lovely decorations.

Pricing: From 9am to 2pm the cost will be $20 for the entire day.
From 1pm-7pm the cost drops to $15 for the rest of the day.
From 7pm to 2am the cost is $10 until we close the night out with the rave.
(This way, if you show up later than expected, it will cost less, and the most it will cost for anyone s $20.)
