Its that Time of Year...
Posted On 08/31/2007 21:28:59

Its now the time of year when everyone has either started or will be starting school. Now that marks my return to the classroom, alas I still yearn for the summer and more time to convention hop but between work and my own studies I choose to refrain. Plus my expensives are capped between a new apartment and my future wedding plans, so no cons for a while. ::Ponders about NY Anime Festival::

I've been at work the pass three days getting my classroom in order. I try to make my room as creative as possible, because I get bored easily looking at the same thing. So I draw pictures on charts and use contact paper to cover ugly tables. This year everyone feel in love with some silk flower pots I bought at AC Moore. I have three different little pots of fabric mums and one mixed floral on my desk. It just adds a little bit of whimsy in the room.

I've grown very proud of my classroom, finally after two years I think I understand the importance of all those little details that we as cosplayers always brood about. I just never was able to translate that to my classroom, now I think I finally understand. Sadly I think some the new teachers are envious, especially since I'm now the youngest of the "old" bunch. But it can't be helped, its just something that happens with time. What is cool is that they don't mind coming up and asking me questions, which is cool. I still remember clearly what its like being the new kid on the block.

And Here we go....

Ah just finishing up all the good stuff that needs to get ready for the venture to Otakon 2k7. This will be my last Otakon until further notice, for many personal, good reasons.

I'll be heading down there with my old college buddy and her sister via Greyhound () and hopefully get there around 5pm. But I get to hang out her and witness her first shots at cosplaying. Will be running around to various things, but I hope to make this a very fruitful con.

And then I come home to read away the pages of Deathly Hallows...damn I love the summers.

Anime Next 07
Posted On 07/09/2007 20:31:26

Unlike pass years there really wasn't much to offer at Anime Next. I found the schedule pretty boring and the crowds seemed to be lacking the vibrance they usually have.

I had to spend some time working on my costume for the masquerade so I didn't hang out as much as I'd like. But it kept me away from a con that was seemingly lackluster. Even the masquerade didn't have the caliber of skits that we have growth use too, although I loved that it started and ended in a reasonable time.

The best thing I had to say that filled my weekend was performing in my fiance's skit the Gundam SEED Night at the Roxbury one  and hanging with my best buddy and cosplaying the Hawke sisters. Had these events not taken place it would had been a very boring and only a hang n chill con.

Consumed by Thread

Just here consumed by thread, sewing machines, fabric, and everything totally needed for cosplay.

Why is Anime Next so close and I'm still working on these uniforms?

Let see how things go at this con.

Summer Break

One thing I love about being a teacher is having the summer off and still get paid.

Oh yeah!

Hey's to Summer and its lovely glory!

Final Days Ahoy!
Posted On 06/12/2007 18:24:44

The final days of school are ahead, so naturally I'm losing my mind keeping my little, eh, big students in some line. Nearly done with my first year of grad school...15 credits 21 to go. I'm getting my finace and myself ready for the fun of Anime Next in New Jersey and then I'll be off to Otakon once again. A slow convention year, but adult responsiblities are overtaking many cosplay/convention aspects.

Oh well...at least I'll have a ton of time to finish and work on costumes during my convention low.

Hopefully my kids don't kill me, damn, annoying kids.

Avoidance is my Name

Naturally I would post my first blog when I need to be doing something that is very important. I finish one of my graduate school classes today and I need to write up some silly thing for the class. But instead I find myself here on cosspace.com because I'm getting totally hooked. Anyway I'm off to attempt do work before I leave for class.
