Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite Ghibli films, and I love Ashitaka's character. I've been wanting a challenge, and my first serious crossplay, and his outfit looked sufficiently difficult.
My Favorite Aspect:
The fabric of the tunic (linen) and the straw rain cloak, which actually works. It poured the day I wore it and I managed to stay dry from the hips up.
Least Favorite Part:
Fabric on the hood. Couldn't find the color I wanted in something heavier than quilting cotton, which I generally avoid.
Easiest Part:
Pants, tunic, and leg covers. I was able to use existing patterns for the first two and the last are just straight tubes.
