Ack! I was talking to Mike and he wants to change my whole scheme for cosplaying Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura. I was fairly certain I was going to use her battle costume from the second episode of Season 1. I had already purchased the cards for it and everything.
Suddenly he bursts on the scene and wants to do Li, which is totally fine by me. We are already cosplaying the same characters from Tsubasa so I guess it makes sense. Only, he wants to do Li from the movie which is based on happenings from the second season. That means I have to purchase cards again and recommission my wand.
The battle costumes DO look pretty cute together since they are kind of matchy-matchy but, still the second episode was the first one I ever saw and I even have one of the little figurines with her in that costume.
Well i guess that when you cosplay with other people sometimes you have to make sacrifice! Still which do you think I should cosplay...
A show of hands even if I don't know you would be nice. 
Last year was the first year that I truly cosplayed and I loved it. I am so excited about doing it again this year but, this time I'm not going to wait until a week before the con to do my costumes. I'm pleased with how my 3 day costume turned out I just realized that I was turning into the con-goers I make fun of. LOL.
I think I have a final list of characters - most aren't too complicated but, I should probably start now.
TSUBASA - Sakura
- Watch
more episodes of Tsubasa as well as get the manga where the anime
leaves off. I want to get a really good feeling for Sakura's character
and where the story line is going. - Talk to Mike about which
version we should do - manga versus anime. Last year we sort of got
wires crossed. I did it from the anime while he did it from the
manga. This year we want to be on the same page. - Find a reference picture.
- Decide
on a which world costume we are going to do. Last year we did the
introductory costumes which are probably the most recognizable but,
some of the other world costumes were really cool. - Email Hank and see if he is still interested in doing Faye or someone else.
- Purchase
wig from Sakura Wigs (i get half off this year since they screwed up my
order last year) and restyle. The long curls by her ears seem a bit
thick on that wig. - Start pulling together the fabric and patterns I need.
- Find shoes
- Fix
my mokona from last year with some better straps last year the straps
were fraying. Mokona is still in great shape though so I am going to
fix him up some nicer straps Maybe I should make him into a messenger
bag instead of a backpack.
I suspect this list will get longer after Mike and I get through the preliminary decision making process.
PEACH GIRL - Momo
- Find a reference picture
- Purchase socks for the uniform (Lyz didn't we order socks already last time I was at your house?)
Purchase uniform skirt- Find my white short sleeve button up blouse (I think that may be in e-burg since I combed my house in yakima).
- Purchase a royal blue sweater vest (wow that sounds gross - sweater-vest, what's next pocket protector?)
- Decide if I should purchase new shoes or go with the ones I have
- Find a school bag
- Purchase and style my wig
- Talk Mike into going as one of the boys for me and Lyz, Togi or Kari would be good and make for interesting pictures.
- Find some cream boyshorts because those skirts are SHORT.
CARDCAPTORS SAKURA - Sakura
Find
my reference picture. I have a little figurine which has Sakura in a
super cute battle outfit and I think that's the one I am going to do.- Figure
out if I need to purchase another wig of if I can use the Tsubasa one
(a bit of a cop out but, I need to think about over-all costs) Purchase Clow Card and Book Wait for clow book to arrive.- Purchase
wand from first Season or commission it (i think I am going to have a
card ready to tape to the wand so it looks like I am sealing in
pictures) - Find a pattern for a long sleeved leotard, cape, and beret type hat.
- Figure out how to make the gloves.
Figure out which episode it's from so I know which card she captures. SHADOW- Watch the episode so I can get a feel of the coat shape.
- Find high top sneakers and figure out how to make the shoes
- Purchase blue thigh-hi socks.
- Find a kero backpack.
FINAL FANTASY X2 - Beserker Rikku (aka Attention Whore Slut Costume)
- Dig up my CG book for the reference pictures and see if I can find more online - maybe sketches?
- Find appropriate fur for costume need it both in an orange-y and redish pink color.
- Price out and commission the horn and the shoulder armor.
- Find a bright yellow wig and dig up the styling notes from Lavendar.
- Find some body paint in orange.
